I would not reccommend this for a large family, it just can't make enough ice. But for one or two people, or for an RV, this machine is great. Another thing I like as a blind person, this easy to use with one button operation.

The ice maker on our refrigerator went out, so this is better than buying a new fridge by a long shot. It is NOT "Sonic Ice" or particularly small on the "small" setting, but it's fine. It takes a while to get much I've, so I fill a container to have in the freezer. The ice is not really very cold, and is pretty wet when it goes in, which makes it freeze into clumps, but it isn't too hard to break apart. The cubes with a hole in the middle cool drinks fast, but they also melt super fast. This is just FYI, though. I don't regret buying it, and I'm happy with the purchase. ... show more

Nugget Ice Maker Countertop, Portable Crushed Sonic Ice Machine, Self Cleaning Ice Makers with One-Click -- My biggest complaint with is unit is the advertising. PORTABLE? Not really. Needs a power source if used outdoors, it has no handle for easy porting, but it is light enough for one of the big kids to carry. SELF-CLEANING? Not really. Someone needs to be around to put in fresh water & any recommended cleaning solution, unplug the reservoir and drain the cleaning solution waters , and then add fresh rinse water a couple of times, however, the machine does not need to be disassembled. The ice basket and scoop are easily hand washed. The only ice flavor manufacturer approved is fresh, clean water. I've seen social media vids making flavored, brightly colored ice. Self-cleaning? Not likely, somebody will have to be there to change the cleaning water. ICE IN 7 MINS, UP TO 34# CLEAR ICE PER DAY: In 7 mins there will be a few little chucks that would dilute but not chill. In 24 hours "up to 34 pounds"... they're talkin' workin' shifts, and fudgin' "up to" that "34 pound" number. Like other reviewer comments, I agree it is annoying that a basket of ice will have melted ice water running out the bottom. Problem is the reservoir space is just not cold enough. This is such an awesome little ice maker. If you want sonic ice/pebble ice, this is your machine. Yes, it does make some noise, but no more than any other portable ice maker we have had. I bought this for a late Christmas present for myself so I got it in January 24. I hooked it up like it said and did a cleaning cycle and all. Worked great until about may and then it started saying it needed water when it still had water. I even turn it off at night so it doesn’t just cycle for no reason. I checked about chat support but the warranty or whatever must have already ended because there was no option to return. I have cleaned it and it still does that. Now tonight (29th of July) it started making a horrible loud clicking noise and I saw the thing that turns and breaks the ice into chunks was frozen. So I turned it off. Let it melt. Turned it back on and it still does that noise. I’ve turned it off and waited several hours and still makes the noise so I guess it’s busted some how 🥲 I loved this machine so much but I am very disappointed it only worked a few months especially since it was so expensive. ... show more
