This is a pretty nice ice machine. It is a good size for your counter. It is not real bulky. It is easy to use and to clean. I am happy with the size of the cubes. I prefer the small cubes but these are more on the medium end, but they are good for me. It does make a good amount of ice and is great when going on a trip or to fill your cups. You make what works for you. I do wish that they lasted longer. If you leave them in the maker to long they do tend to melt sooner than I thought. Since they are made in the machine they are not as dense as the ice you make in your freezer and since the lid is plastic and just sits closed, it is not sealed, the cubes do tend to melt a little quicker. I mostly use it for a cooler and a cup that I take to my art/craft shows so this is perfect for me. I also dont have a lot of counter space and this does not take up much room. This little ice machine make the perfect size ice, especially for those who love to crunch it. I fit 11 of the large ice pieces in an 8-oz cup. The hardness of the ice is pretty average. It's definitely harder than other ice machines I've used, but it's not as hard as the ice from my freezer. The machine makes nine pieces of ice at a time, and when I set it to make the large ice cubes, the cycle took eight minutes. I keep my home at 69 degrees. One of my photos shows the filled ice cube tray, and making enough ice to fill the tray as pictured took 54 minutes. Making enough ice to fill the tray as pictured also used less than half the water in the reservoir. The machine could easily make twice as much ice before needing refilling. My favorite feature is that the drain plug is on the bottom. So many ice makers have a plug on the side, and they invariably leave water in the reservoir. Locating the plug prior to filling the tank precludes having to lift up the machine filled with water in order to locate it. Once its location is ascertained, the plug can easily be removed even without being able to see it. Since the plug is on the bottom of the machine, the ice maker must be moved in order to access the plug/drain the water. The handle makes this task pretty easy. Easy to set up and use. The unit makes ice surprisingly quick. It is sturdy and easy to access the features needed for using ice for several people at a time. Cleaning the machine is much easier than the old one .The ability to see how much ice is in the bin is a good feature.

I've had this portable icemaker for six days and it stopped working. It was working fine for a few days and then I started looking like it was melting. Then it kept saying that the water level was too low, but it was fine and now it won't freeze ice at all.

How handy is this for parties? This is a very attractive unit and works as advertised (see description). Even though it has a relative small footprint, if you are short of counter space, it may not be good for you. The ice cubes are weirdly shaped, but they serve the purpose. Makes like a glass of ice every 5 minutes or so. It was very simple to set up and get going, it was actually a no brainer. Seems like a well built machine and appears to be durable, but time will tell. If you’re requirement is instantaneous ice, keep shopping. This one takes a few minutes. Be patient. ... show more

    • Really nice ice machine, and happy it has a self cleaning function.
My previous ice machine finally gave up, so it was time to order a new ice machine, and I decided to give this one a try. It works great, and I really appreciate that it has a self cleaning function. My previous ice machine did not and it was always getting gross and a pain to clean out all the time. This ice maker makes 2 different sizes, although I don't even know why they bother with the small size, because it is barely any smaller than the larger size. I just leave it on the larger size as that is what we prefer. I like the simple notifications, letting me know when the ice is full and that it needs more water. I would say it makes ice in pretty average time, about 6 minutes per batch, which is pretty much the same as others. Overall, it's a nice ice maker, and the self cleaning mode really makes it even better. ... show more

    • Amazing ice maker!
This ice maker is GREAT! It is easy to fill up with water and it continuously makes ice through the day. There are two size settings for the cubes. It comes with a scoop that is the perfect size, and the tray that holds the ice is removable so you can take it all out or you can wash up each part individually when needed. The only downfall is that there is no where to store the scoop, so we had to put a little cup next to this to keep it off the counter. Other than that, it's amazing! ... show more
