  • Wow, this was easy
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
I just purchased this and used it to install a hot water heater. Since this was a different type of water heater there were a lot of moving the pipes to new locations and a lot of new connections and this device made it so simple, quick and easy. I love it. I hate sweating pipes and this removed that as an issue. I did have to go back and repress one connection but no big deal, I probably didn't press hard enough the first time. This is so much a time/money saver. Two notes - the manual needs a better English proof reader as it obviously was not written by someone who knows English. Also, the manual says to replace the hydraulic oil once a year - really? Also, if you go this way for connecting pipes remember that the fittings are much more expensive that regular copper fittings - but that is not the fault of this device. I will also note to buy the fittings on-line as in store there is a huge markup. Finally, buy this, it is well made, very substantial, and gets the job done well. Buying it only cost me a few dollars more than renting it at the local HD so go and buy this. I love it! ... show more

  • Awesome Tool!
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
I installed a water pressure booster on my residential service. Thirty two joints I didn't have to solder. Awesome Tool. Worth every penny!

  • Surprising how good it works for the price
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
Honestly I will say this surprised me for the price. I use the Rigid Pro-Press on a regular basis at work and this did the job well. I didn't bother trying Tee fittings since everyone said it won't fit. But for basic fittings work it did great. Just pump it until the clamp bottoms out and you can't pump it anymore(without forcing it) I would suggest this to anyone that is a DIY repair type that has enough common sense to use it. ... show more

  • Amazing for the price
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
Installed a water heater for a friend and this made it way easier. Soldering on new fittings in a SUPER cramped closet would have been a terrible time. This crimper saved the day. 6 90s, 2 male adapters, and 1 coupling crimped and all of them crimped very nicely and leak free. The rotating head made it easier in some locations for sure. The only things I didn’t like is that it kinda pinches the copper where the jaws meet making very sharp crushed Copper tabs. I’m not sure if other crimpers do this since this is the only one I’ve ever used but man did one of those tabs tear open my thumb. Had to do the old electricians bandage trick to finish the job (wrapped it in electrical tape). In another users picture you can see the tab I’m talking about. EDIT 8-8-2020: Now that I think about it this may have to do with the fittings. No idea obviously. I used Nibco fittings i bought at Lowes. Perhaps if I used Viega propress fittings instead it may have come out better? No idea. good luck guys. The other thing was that the jaws had a little trouble releasing the fitting after crimping but that was a minor detail. Maybe a little silicone lube or something might help prevent that. All in all this thing is amazing for the price. In a pinch this thing can definitely save the day. ... show more

  • Does the job and does it well
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe,F877 and F1807 Pex
I gotta say I am impressed with the way this pro-press functions. I watched a bunch of videos and reviews before biting the bullet and buying it and was pleasantly surprised. Especially at this price point. Sure it's a manual crank but it's not bad at all. Once I got the hang of it I got moving pretty quick. My only concern with the tool is the size of the upper portion of the pro press. It's a little thick so if you have one of those copper pro-press Ts from Home Depot, good luck. You can press the sides with no issues but the part that Ts off is so close that you can't really squeeze in there. That's where my other pro-press shines. That and very tight spaces. With this tool being a little bulky, it's not that easy to work with if you don't have a lot of room. I love the fact that this can press both PEX and copper/brass. Been several months now using it. Haven't had any leaks yet. Fingers crossed it stays that way. ... show more

  • You wont be disappointed
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
The easy of use. Cant believe it was that simple. My son and I put in a Culligan Whole House Water Filter in less than 30 minutes. Once the cuts were made then things pushed together and boom DONE. No more soldering and praying you did it right. This tool made it DUMMY PROOF!

  • This tool is awesome
Pattern Name: for Copper Pipe
When used properly this tool works flawlessly. I bought it for a home renovation product which required about 50 press connections both 1/2 and 3/4. Not one leak on any of the connections. Things I recommend, 1. Make sure the o rings are in the fitting, 2. Give the pipe a light brush to make sure it’s clean, 3. Make sure pipe is completely duburred inside and out, 4. Press only until the jaws close completey do not over press, 5. Inspect every press for a nice hex press all the way around the fitting. 6. Do not rush take your time with every press making sure the pipe is all the way in the fitting and seated properly in the press. I insert the pipe into the fitting and mark with a marker so when I pressed I could see if the pipe moved. I have not pressed any tee fittings yet but will update the review when I do. ... show more
