Description

It's been three decades since Ibanez was in the banjo business, but the'yre back with a bang (or is it a twang?) with the B200. Old-timers may recall Ibanez was quite enamored with banjo-building, having even collaborated on an artist signature model with the late great Earl Scruggs. Now, with the Ibanez B200 you get a sweet 5-string closed-back banjo at a price that wont break the bank. It features a basswood rim with 24-lug configuration, a rolled brass tone ring and mahogany resonator. The mahogany neck has a rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl inlay. Chrome banjo tuners lend a vintage note while keeping things in tune.

  • Product nice. Not sure of the merchant
Color: Natural
We received the banjo early. That was nice. It is a surprise gift for a friend. The box arrived partially opened. The box was flimsy to begin with. It was directly from the merchant (Adorama - which appears to be a camera store! Odd.). Inside the shipping box was the triangular-shaped box that would be familiar to anyone who has purchased a stringed instrument in the past. This inner box had a large gash on it, but the banjo seemed okay. There was nothing inside the box other than the banjo and a couple little tools - probably to adjust the neck. There was no paperwork and no manual. I want to emphasize that the banjo itself looks really nice. Usually can't go wrong with Ibanez. It's just the way the product got to our house that was disturbing. We will be presenting the banjo to our friend next week. Hoping he finds that it tunes up and plays well. ... show more

  • Ibanez, RB 200
Color: Natural
This was the awesome playing little banjo It is a good quality. And I really enjoyed picking this little Bando. For the money, you just can’t beat it. It’s got the quality of some of your most higher price banjos.

  • Excellent quality for the price!
Color: Natural
This is beautiful, quality banjo. After a week so far so good. It sounds great with good sound projection. It is a bit heavy. I don't know how heavy closed back banjos are supposed to be but it is not a deal breaker. I think it about 12.5 pounds. All new banjos that are shipped to you do not have the bridge installed. This is to prevent the banjo head from being punctured or broken. Easy to set up. Lots of info about this the web. Other reviews claim the banjo does not stay in tune. This happened to me but was easily fixed by tightening the tuning nut a little bit with a screwdriver. It has been holding it's tune for days now. I had an Ibanez semi-hollow guitar many years ago. They are good quality instruments without breaking the bank. Keep on pickin and grinnin! ... show more

  • Pretty banjo. Bad tuning pegs
Color: Natural
This is a pretty banjo. But, the tuning pegs won't keep the strings tuned. You may need new tuning pegs if you buy this banjo

  • Perfect for beginners through intermediate.
Color: Natural
Incredible bang for your buck banjo. This banjo will last you until your bluegrass band is making you enough money to pay for something top of the line - and in my opinion, most average banjo players will be happy with this instrument for life!

  • Qc issues
Color: Natural
Wooden chips/ shavings taken off the bridge, hard scratch in clear coat near the neck. Supposedly a new product
