  • Nice read for mom with dementia
I bought two of these little books for my mom who was an avid reader. Now due to dementia, it's difficult for her to comprehend a lot, these are nice little reader for her.

  • Almost perfect as a stroke recovery aid
For our purposes (stroke-induced aphasia and speech ataxia recovery) this needs "cleaner" font (e.g., arial, cordia, verdana, etc.) without the serif embellishments on certain letters. No other issues; lives up to its own hype otherwise (font size, line spacing, interesting and entertaining stories, etc.). ... show more

  • Oldsters love this!
The large print is a real plus if you want to give this to an older relative. My 95 year old uncle loved it and passed it on to others at his assisted living facility.

  • A tidbit of history
History 101. Short explanations of historical events of Baby Boomer years. Was expecting more unusual & interesting trivia type of information. Easy reading, but disappointed.

  • Brilliantl Summary of Important events in our lives
Bill Oneill has wrtten an accurately researched consice history of events through most of our adult life.Real data, little opnion, no political bias. I did not know how close we came to nuclear war with the russians in 1983!! Or the background of the Iron Lady, or how lucky the US was to have Regan president at that time. How forming Amtrac reduced passqnger service. Or which world leaders wore avator sun glasses. One minor omission of the late 1960's was the 1969 Woodstock Festival. It would be great to have ONeils analysis of whycWoodstok was not held in woidstock, the signifigance of the event in bringing some peqce at a difficult time, the beajtiful presentation of Joan Beaz. And further its role in providing the little yeloow bird in the Charlie Brown Cartoon which forecast much of the present US senate and house. A senate led by a Chuck with the same first name as Charlie, a shiffty Sentator that looks like Charlie , a house led by a lady like Charlies girl that holds his football. A dusty little friend not unlike Senate minority leader. And a president that wears aviator mirror sun glasses and wants to spend tax payers money revising Amtrac.!! ... show more

  • My 80 yr old Father loved it!
Sent this to my 80 year old Father for his birthday, so glad I did. He loved it. My Mother said he was talking about the stories and really got a kick out of them. Thought about things he hadn't in quite a while. Need to find a volume two!
