Got this based on reviews and was on sale. Wanted to get a carrier that would hold as heavy a bike as possible and this is up there with 70 lbs per bike, 2 bikes, 140 lbs total. Easy to assemble: the instructions had numbers in pictures matching numbers on the parts bags. I deducted a star on easy to lock, it ratches in one direction, down, if pushed down too hard the button to unlock the ratchet is hard to push, had to tap mine gently to get it to unlock. Holds my e-bike secure. There's some wobble in my hitch receiver and their hookup which is normal. Here's a tip: Get a small rag and some silicone spray that comes in the can. Squirt a drip on every exposed rivet heads, the locking mechanism hinges... everything. I did this to prevent corrosion on the metal parts and wiped down the ratcheting bar and mechanism. Now it's silky smooth and zero resistance. Overall, pleased with this product ... show more

I've used this rack a couple times now and it works great for our two Veloctric bikes. Just do a "pre-flight" check of all the pins and straps to be safe. It seems well built. The biggest drawback is that the assembly instructions are horrendous. In English, we go left to right and top to bottom. The instructions have #3 at the top of the picture, then #2, then #4 then #1. Other pages have other steps out of order. It also shows you taking a wrench to a bolt you don't need to touch. Things are out of order, the pictures are hard to see the detail on and it's a nightmare trying to follow them. I've assembled a lot of things in my lifetime, most of them with bad Chinese instructions, but this is an award-winner for awful. The pictures are pretty, but the helpfulness is a solid zero. If you buy this rack, look for a Youtube video and throw the instructions that come with it in the nearest fire. The other thing I would recommend is buying some reflective tape to put on it. It would be nice if it came with it, but it doesn't. The rack is black and with it obscuring the back of your vehicle when loaded, some reflective tape for night driving is probably a good idea. I love the quality of the entire rack. The design is excellent and I have no trouble getting my 4" x 50 pound Fat tire bike in the rack - even with my physical limitations. Strong mating surfaces that fit perfectly and are easy to assemble. Folds up beautifully for storage. Cons - Design flaws: 1. The vertical locking hooks can be defeated by letting the air out of the FAT tires, so I recommend a sturdy cable lock through the car frame. 2. The pin lock and anti rattle bolt design are excellent, but make sure the lock fully opens before installing it. Mine was defective and it took a half hour, finally risking pliers on the key (LAST THING YOU WANT TO DO) to get enough leverage to remove it. HYPERAX sent me a new one immediately. 3. WHile the pin lock is secure in locking the tongue to the vehicle receiver, the bike support assembly can be stolen while you are off riding by removing the one bolt that secures the assembly to the tongue. I WOULD SUGGEST TO HYPERAX THAT THEY USE THE SAME PIN LOCK ARRANGEMENT FOR THIS BOLT. Other than that this is an excellent device. ADDED LATER: Hyperax sent me a longer pin and new lock. So I want to review this product from the point of view of another manufacturer who contracts for manufacturing in China. This product is remarkably well-made, well-packaged, and has clear and easy instructions to follow. Hats off to the manufacturer. The welds on the tubing are tight and clean, the powder coating on the steel is excellent thickness, the design is great. The part were beautifully and precisely packaged in 100% recyclable material. The assembly manual was an example of clarity, with photos rather than diagrams, and a QR code to link to a video for those who prefer that form. The kit even came with a cool little jackknife-like keychain as a freebie. Hyperax is clearly a company who gets the little things right and sweats the details.     • The keys didn't fit the bike clamps they only fit the receiver pin

I'd like a set of keys to fit the y313 locks for this thing ! FYI I have a 39ft Class A motorhome and even though it specifically says do not mount this on a motorhome I bought it anyway. It fit great, the hitch pin tightens up to where it didn't budge one bit. The hold down clamps to hold the bikes in place locked but the keys do not work in the locks. I clamped them down anyway and used the supplied tie down velcro straps. I'll upgrade to dirt bike tie downs so I fell better about going down the road! I was able to get the clamps down really tight to hold the bikes but couldn't get them to release WHEN WE ARRIVED AT OUR CAMP SITE. All I had to do was pull the latch pin on the vertical bar with the plastic handle to swing the rack out as if you were accessing your car truck and it raises the hold down clamps so you can easily get your bikes off. I'll just buy another bike lock and cable to lock them on the rack . No Big deal. The rack works great and I used a foam pad wrapped around my handle bar grip and some duct tape to keep it from bouncing AGAINST THE BACK OF MY COACH. again no big deal. ... show more

Quality build, reasonable assembly, and packaged very well. Loaded/unloaded bikes for one trip so far and it went well except for getting bike chain grease on my arms. Attaching the velcro straps to the wheels gets you pretty close to the chains. Ratchet style top bar holders with key locks are a very nice feature.
