My only complaint is that the wood had some sort of coating on it, which rubbed off on my hands and clothes when putting it together. It washed off easily though! Assembly was fairly easy (took me about 30 minutes by myself) and the shelves feel secure. Easy to build, took me about 20 minutes to build on my own. Very sturdy and well made. It was a lot taller than expected, which I appreciate. Adds life to your space and lots of room for items. My only complaint is that I got a splinter while building, which I don't understand why because the wood is so smooth... so handle with care! ... show more

I was looking for a not totally expensive but aesthetic bookshelf for my growing book collection. This was very easy to put together, only took me about 20-30 minutes by myself. It’s very lightweight, and easy to move around once it is assembled. With that, however, it isn’t the most sturdy, meaning my 16 pound cat was very disappointed when I told him he could not jump onto it. I really like the look of this ladder shelf but you definitely need an extra hand with building, or just for the first shelf attachment. This is an easy build but it is very confusing until you get that first shelf in, after that it’s easy breezy! So if you are inexperienced in building furniture I would definitely have an experienced friend help you out, regardless it looks great completed and seems every sturdy :) ... show more

I guess I should have expected that I'd get what I paid for. I wish I hadn't wasted money on this. It arrived with obvious chips and broken off pieces, there were two completely different tones of wood on the same piece, and the whole thing is so wobbly and unstable that I'm afraid to put anything on it. On top of that, they only provide one Allen wrench. It's impossible to assemble with only the one, you need at least two to hold some of the bolts steady while you tighten others. Otherwise, it's impossible to get the bolts tight enough. It's a good thing I had some extra ones lying around. Don't waste your money on this. ... show more

You definitely get what you pay for with this. The assembly process was nightmarish.. my fingers are sore after pressing in each individual screw reinforcer. Thankfully I had a drill bit that worked with the screws, so using my drill made things work better. However, the process is still painstaking and the finished product was not very sturdy. However, it is a good price and will fit in small spaces. It did achieve the desired look, although some of the shelves are not leveled which is bothersome. Also, the kit comes with 0 extra screws/pieces so be sure not to lose any! ... show more

I had been waiting for this shelf very anxiously as it looked like everything I wanted and it was on a reasonable price compared to others. It was all I wanted and more!! Took me about an hour to put together (I am not the handiest) but it was very easy to assemble and looks great on my room. I only have some books and plants there but it is everything I was hoping for.
