  • Great tool
I never weld with this type welder but after few minuts i realized that is easier then stick weld. Very happy with this tool. i would recommend everyone. quality is good. It is easy to learn even if you never weld before. It is light weight.

  • a good choice
It is as advertised. It's appears to be well made (I've not taken it apart). It functions well in all modes. Given the low price, it's a great buy; but what might be improved for a little higher price. The 6+ long power lead is a little short. It's sometimes difficult to have the machine close to you, forcing one to be creative in supporting it. Given that the power lead is fixed to the machine, there might be a place to hang or wrap it when moving the welder. I don't know what would be involved in making the power lead detachable given that it's flux-core only. I am very pleased with my choice of this unit and I assume that it will continue to work well on the small to moderate welding projects that I have planned. ... show more

  • A good welder but there are some areas it could be improved
This is actually a very good welder, but it does have some limitations and could stand some improvements. What I like: The ability to use either 110v or 220v. For the most part, I use the 220v, but having the ability to use 110v adds to the portability. It is light weight. Seriously, you can easily lift it with one hand and, if you had a big lunchbox, you could pack it in your lunchbox. It can do MIG, stick, and flux core wirefeed. To do MIG you will need the bottle and a regulator. To do TIG, you will need the TIG torch, etc. It is easy to use, but if you are going to do flux core (which I assume will be most of your welding) make sure you set it up properly. You have to do a kind of jumper connection on the front of the welder and if you don't set it up right, it won't weld nearly as well. It has a good duty cycle considering it's size Where it could stand some improvement: The front jumper arrangement is kind of odd. It seems that it could do the same thing with a multi-position dial on the front. That would be easier for the user and add to the versatility of the machine. It does not have a wire feed speed dial. Depending on your voltage and amperage, the machine sets the wirefeed speed. Having a dial to increase or decrease the wire feed would help out a lot. It only has a MIG nozzle on the torch and no flux core nozzle is provided. If you mostly do flux core wirefeed, as I do, this would be a great help. Fortunately I was able to buy a couple of them locally and it makes a huge difference. If you are new to wirefeed welding, get the flux core nozzle, mind your wire distance (1/2" to 5/8" seems to work best), set your voltage at 18 to 19 volts, don't try to weld too fast, and use quality flux core wire. Hynade also sells wire and it is good wire. I had been using a different brand of wire and was unhappy with my welds. I tried the Hynade wire and it made a big difference. The machine will only accept a 2 pound spool of wire. This is because of the size of the machine, but if you check out the prices of flux core wire, you will see that the exact same wire in a 10 lb spool is much cheaper per pound than in a 2 lb spool. One of the first things I built was a 10 lb spool holder, after all, I have a welder, so it was a good, if simple, project. Over all, a good welder, easy to set up, and easy to use ... show more

  • Nice welder
Works well with flux wire. Have not tried welding with gas yet.

  • Great welder simple to use
I had a hf wire feed welder that worked fine, but there was a lot of spatter and the penetration wasn't very good. The first weld was on light metal and looked good. The second was on thicker metal and with the volts and amps turned up, it welded great.

  • Works good after mods**
Style: MIG135FX 110V
Arc was was erratic mig and stick welding had extremely hard time starting 7018 rod. Added some inductance to the output and added ferrite chokes around all low voltage wires. Now it works

  • The ease of using Hynade 140D Mig Welder
Had a situation where I had a broken spark plug and two deep broken exhaust studs in the cylinder head have bought about 7 easy out's various brand tools to try to extract this stubborn broken plug and two deep broken exhaust studs, finally ready to give up and decided to buy a Hynade 140D mig welder, BTW never welded in my life and could not find anything on U tube as to how to set it up for for this 140D for beginners, although the Hynade web site showed a video. watched a few other video's on basic setup and read the user's manual just for basic setting and to my astonishment tried it and being a first-time user, it was very easy to use, out of the box. The only drawback was using a helmet made it hard to see where your welding, guess I need to practice more often to get better at welding but this time was very happy to get them out. Kudos to Hynade for this affordable unit and the simple ease to use. ... show more

  • Poor workmanship
Updated 03/09/22: I had trouble feeding wire on with the spool that came with machine. Today I tried to load a new spool and could not get it to load. Started taking it apart to find the glich and found the wire guide in the handle was twished nearly shut. That's just poor workmanship and quality control. I cannot get handle back together, they must have ajig to assemble so it was not designed to be repaired. Again I repeat, had they paid more attention to the product it could have been good. Would I buy again - hell no. Why could they have not spent 5-cents for decent instructions. I was having trouble getting wire to feed. Even YouTube didn't point me to the problem. The solution was simple, why don't instructions say so? Wire would feed what appeared to be the length of hose then would hang. Fix? Take off nozzle press trigger to advance wire through opening, THEN select correct nozzle size for the wire and thread wire through it and screw nozzle back to handle. Tomorrow I'll try to strike my first arc and may amend my rating upward. Revision: Maybe I should have known the nozzle has to come out first. I just completed some welding and the unit works fine. I'm wasting some wire because I am holding too far away from material I'm, welding. My stick welding experience causing me to do this, I'll adjust. So I've raised the overall rating to 4 stars. Aside from my initial rough start, it's doing the job for which I bought it. It does do a better job on sheet metal than I've been able to do with a stick. ... show more
