  • Put to the test, almost 3 years running & Still loving it.
Color: Black/Clementine Size: Regular
I love my bag so much, that after nearly 3 years, I felt the need to update my review. This bag is the only gear I own since I started backpacking 3 years ago, that I have never even thought about the need to upgrade. In 2018, I did many overnight backpacking trips, Eagle Rock Loop, AR, segment of the AT in NC. In 2019, I did ERL Arkansas, Big Bend NP, many local nights and 3 trips to Colorado. In 2020, I went to Colorado for backpacking twice, plus all local backpacking. I've used my sleeping bag probably 30-45 nights in the backcountry and slept in bed probably another 10 nights. I still love it! I've honestly never washed it. I air it out, but even though it seems clean and has no noticeable smell, I probably should wash it. My tag looks nothing like the tag in the picture, included with the 1 star review that complains about 550...Does she not see it says 550g...not 550 Fill Power. Anyway, her tag is worn. She either washed it a lot, used it a lot, or both. I think she should review that, not what she just noticed on her tag. My sleeping bag is super warm, but the coldest I've camped in was probably low 30's. Maybe one night I remember thinking it was probably at it's lowest limit. When I went to CO in October, I brought a fleece liner for the inside. It weighed more and was bigger than the sleeping bag! Between both of them, I was super cozy and warm. 95% of the time, I just used my sleeping bag. This last year I quit using the compression bag. It worked great, but by stuffing the sleeping bag into the bottom of my pack, it feels in all the gaps and takes up even less space. I could imagine, maybe the bottom 4 inches or so. Since I bought my sleeping bag, I've gone through countless sleeping pads. I've bought 2 tents and still looking for a better one. I've gone through 3 trek poles, 2 stoves, etc... My sleeping bag is good and is the only gear I got right from the beginning. Now, I'd be hesitant to buy another because they changed the down. Maybe it's better, IDK, but it's synthetic and different. I've also looked at the Hyke & Byke tents a lot. They seem nice, but I'm hesitant to pull the trigger. I'm just thankful I bought this sleeping bag in the beginning and I don't need to upgrade or spend any more money. It is ultralight, warm and packs down good. Not to mention cheap, compared to the name brands you find at the outfitters. Great buy! Updated May 22, 2021...from 4 to 5 stars... (Bought 3 years ago.) Below is my older review(s). (WARNING: Bag has been redesigned since my review and since most of the other reviews were left.) I'd never bought anything with down before this bag and never spent much on a sleeping bag period. I was real excited and nervous, since this was a huge investment for me. I've been backpacking at least 2 nights a month, every month for the last year. I was also planning a week long AT hike and didn't want to much weight. When it first came in, I tested camping in the backyard and just laying in my bed. I'd never had down before, so the softness is just amazing. I really liked it, but I couldn't get the down to even out over my back and butt area. Since I spent so much and 30 days was approaching, I almost returned it. Eventually I learned that down does no good when compressed, so it would be pointless to have down at the back and butt area. That's why you still need a sleeping pad, even in a hammock. Now everything about it is perfect and I love it. I spent some cold nights on the AT, woke up covered in frost, but my bag stayed warm. There is also plenty of down at the feet and in the hood. This bag is warm! It's almost been a year, so I thought it would be nice to give a good honest review. I'm not a tester or anything. You can look at my other reviews and know I'm for real. If you have lots of experience with down and high end camping gear, then you may feel different. I don't see how personally, because I love it. It's gotten damp and didn't soak up any water. It's super light and compacts real small. The amount of space you save in your bag is a huge plus! I gotta go, so just trust me and buy this if your on the fence. (ALSO, NEVER WASH! All the bad reviews seem to be people that tried to wash it in there washer machine. Wow! lol. I wouldn't even try with all those down feathers. So far, mine is still plenty clean. A silk liner is also a good idea if you know you will be nasty getting in and out. ... show more

  • Sturdy, soft and comfortable
Color: Blue/Lime Green Size: Short
Kid tested and approved. Calling all parents! the product is worth the price. great color and the fabric is very warm and comfortable. Kept child warm in 40 degree nighttime weather while camping. Very easy for a 10 year old to take out and put away by himself. Was able to easily stuff back into its stuff sack. Now my other child wants the same one! Go get it ... show more

  • Awesome bag so far!
Color: Blue/Lime Green Size: Regular
UPDATE after 3 straight weeks of backpacking and having this for a while: This sleeping bag packs down super small and is incredibly light! I really love that about this sleeping bag and am very impressed! It’s also really soft and silky, so it feels nice, too! It is mostly warm because the front of the bag puffs up a lot, but the back half and hood of the bag are not that warm and are pretty thin. I slept in it at temperatures down to 30F and I could have been okay if it were a little big colder, but I’m not sure about 15 degrees... The zippers are okay. The smaller zippers aren’t great, but the main zipper is pretty good. It’s also a tight fit, which helps keep you warm, but I move around a lot in my sleep and felt pretty restricted. This is actually an amazing bag for the price and I would get it again (probably the bigger size this time) but I can understand why some of these things might be a no go for someone. ORIGINAL post: After having slept in this bag for a couple nights, here are my impressions: Pros: -I plan on using this sleeping bag during my three weeks on the JMT and I am very happy with how lightweight and small it packs down. I am very accustomed to using all my weight to cram my sleeping bag into the lower pocket of my Osprey bag, but this sleeping bag swims in that pocket! -It's very easy to cram the sleeping bag into its stuff sack -The material feels really soft and silky, and the bag fluffs up very nicely. I haven't had a down sleeping bag before, so I cannot comment on how it compares in that sense. -One of the awesome features for me is that you can unzip the sleeping bag from the bottom. I like to stick a leg out of my blankets when I sleep and this feature allowed to regulate my temperature really well if it's a warm night. -I'm a 5'5" woman and I fit pretty well into the regular-size bag and stayed very warm when I camped in 45F nights. Cons: -I wish the bag had a little more space, particularly around my legs. I move around a lot when I sleep and I felt a little too constrained by the bag. -I stayed mostly warm at night at 45F, but I'm not sure I would be warm at temperatures much colder than 40F. One reason is that my blow up pillow (while small) takes up the entire hood of the sleeping bag. It would be pretty difficult to cinch the hood around my head if it got very cold. Another reason is that I'm usually sleep on my side and the back portion of the bag is fairly thin. -The zippers are okay, but I will probably add zipper ties to some of the zippers so I can grab them more easily. Overall, I think this sleeping bag is well worth the price and I would recommend it, but there are a few caveats you should be aware of before you buy. ... show more

  • Great bag for the money
Color: Black/Clementine Size: Regular
I usually don't take the time to write reviews, particularly with my affinity to purchase as much as I do on the Amazon, I'd spend most of my time reviewing. With this bag, I had to. First off, this thing is great. Very light, in a league with much more expensive down bags. Great material feel and zipper function. Nice small compressed size so it doesn't take up as much room as many others in a pack. Warm AF! Took it up for a weekend at the beginning of fall in Pennsylvania Poconos, temps ranging in the mid/low 30s at night and I had to unzip it and use it as a blanket just to vent out some of the sweet sweet warmth. I'm usually a bit thermally challenged as I am 5'10 and well, skinny. I don't retain heat well, but this bag had me feeling like I was cozied up in the arms of big fuzzy yak. I'm a weekend warrior for hiking/backpacking/camping, so it was refreshing to see that I could get a great value bag without having to blowout a mortgage payment to shed a few oz's. If you're going to through hike your way through Siberia, I can't attest to the longevity of the product just yet, but for a sweet UL bag that won't have your wife leaving you because she thinks you're buying your side chick extravagant gifts, this is the one . ... show more
