Good quality seat, installs like every other seat, cleans up no problem. I would note that the slow close mechanism is very tight. If I tip it forward and let it close on its own, it takes over a minute to go from open to shut, probably more, I wasn’t patient enough to watch it. Might loosen up some as it wears in I guess. This toilet seat is awesome, from the size the luster and the well built frame I really have no complaints. It closes slow and silent is easy to clean and seems to have some microban coating to keep things sanitary. The mounting is excellent, no more sliding toilet seat it has rubber gaskets that keep the seat in place and not the usual chap plastic that slides everywhere. Build Quality, today most high quality toilet seat can cost upwards of 40 to 50 at least and with a family of four you need quality. This seat is well built the springs feel soli and as if they will last a long time and it has a luster and shine that gives it the over all finish. This was definitely one of the better toilet seats weve had in years and if your looking for one it can come highly recommended. Lasly it is large enough to fit the old style and new style toilets with room to spare so sizing is a non issue, if you have a toilet it will fit and comes with plenty of hardware to customize that fit for your toilet. ... show more

***FULL DISCLOSURE: Item was received for free through the Amazon Vine program in exchange for an unbiased review.*** It's a toilet seat for a standard (non-extended) toilet. There's not much to say here. We got this set to replace a broken lid in an apartment we were moving out of, and this thing is the very definition of "average". It has zero special features, works exactly the way you expect, and it seems robust enough for the price point. The only talking point I can come up with is that getting the gaskets and washers aligned was a tad fiddly. It seems reasonably sturdy, the hardware is mostly straightforward, and it looks exactly like you expect. It was important to read the included instructions (which were quite average, just like the seat itself), because getting the gaskets and washers installed is slightly counter-intuitive. Other than that, there's not much to say. My only negative is that it seems to be more costly than other items in this price range, and I'm not sure what the justification is for that. Either way, if this item is in your budget and you need a bog-standard toilet seat, this one'll certainly do. ... show more

    • Feels Sturdy and is Most Certainly Slow Closing

The good: The construction of this seat is thick plastic, so it feels very sturdy. It doesn't have that bendy feel you get with some seats, and feels more like you are sitting on a wood seat. It is easy to install. Slow close means no slamming lid. The less good: As someone else mentioned, it is a bit narrow for some toilets (like my Kohler). I don't know if this is something that will change over time, but the slow close seems too tight. You can't just flip the lid and expect it will close on its own (doing so on mine, actually makes the lid go back upright). I found I need to push the lid past about 15 or 20 degrees to reach the point where it will keep going down at a glacial pace. You can start the lid closing then flush the toilet, and the toilet will finish flushing before the lid is even half way down. I guess this might be good for training kids on handwashing by telling them they need to keep washing their hands until the lid closes all the way. LOL ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The slow close toilet lid works as described that it is very quiet and has no slam noise. And it closes very slowly that the flashing was completed and the lid was only half closed. So it is a bit defeated my purpose of closing the lip to avoid water/germs splashes out during the process of flashing. Or I have to wait for the lip to close completely before I flush the toilet. :-( The hinge joints are not tight that could move sideway and makes noise (see video). The size of the toilet seat is a little smaller than my Kohler round toilet. And the ring of the toilet seat is narrower than normal round toilet seat. I feel like sitting on a kid's toilet seat. Things that I like about this toilet seat despite the above mentioned are the material and the smooth surface feels. The shiny polypropylene surface is very easy to clean and looks nice. No decolorization even using bleach-containing cleaner to clean. ... show more
