    • You don't get many second chances in life. Protect your hearing.
I grew up around fireworks, firearms and generally loud environments. We always think nothing will happen to our ears right? Well I took a hearing test and the results weren't A+. Doctor guessed correctly I'd been around loud noises often given the upper ranges I can't hear/very well. I changed my life from this day, and now always wear hearing protection when I operate equipment, shoot or am around loud noises. I own the Husqvarna helmet with similar hearing protection for operating my chainsaw. I really like that setup, so I decided to try these. I'm equally impressed. They fit comfortably with supple padding that's not stiff like other hearing protection. Most importantly, they do a great job in reducing noise to a safe level. Also, I like soft rubber/silicone earplugs, too, as my ears don't sweat with those. Typically I use the ear muffs for quick tasks like operating a table saw and go with plugs if I'm going to be wearing them all day. Regardless go with what works and is most comfortable. I have cheaper $10 muffs and these Husqvarna muffs are more comfortable even though I doubt they provide much more if any hearing protection. So to those not familiar with hearing muffs, yes, they have to fit well. (NOTE: If these feel too tight or loose, check the adjustments on the side...yes, there are some "+/-" sliders to adjust tension.) As I take these on off repeatedly, I'm not sure how they'd feel wearing them all day long as really I don't need to wear them all day...I doubt I ever will. If I'm wearing anything all day like this, it'd be my IPod with Shure headphones as I get fantastic sound (music) plus hearing protection. Bottom-line is when safety gear fits well and performs well, I'll wear it all the time. That's what you have here: gear that works, protects you and you want to use it. 5-stars for these. ... show more

These are great protection for your hearing as they are made with quality materials. The sound reduction during weed eater, chain saw, or mowing operation is good.

I really like these headsets. A huge difference in wearing them and not wearing them. Very comfortable and they match my new Scag mower. There is no reason to not have these. Steve

    • 22" Head & 3/4 Acre Lawn Care Use
As several reviewers have noted, the headphones ARE tight on your ears (reason for the 4 stars). I've got a 22" head (measured across the forehead). I think you'd be OK using these for about 2 hours at a time without too much annoyance. I do use them with eye protection. Because of the extra soft foam that contacts your head (the part just inside the orange ring in the image), I did not experience discomfort from the headphones pressing on the eye protection where they hook around my ears - very pleased with that. I used these while riding my John Deer lawn tractor, using my Stihl weed eater, and Stihl backpack blower (but not all at the same time - ha). You can still hear noise (of course), but I was very impressed with their effectiveness while using all equipment. I would like to see if there is a less tight option, but probably won't since I will typically only use them for about 60-90min at a time. ... show more

Ingeniously cheap adjustment mechanism makes the most of the tough plastic construction. Wide range of fit, and the pressure on the cups goes from slack to mousetrap tight with a thumb slider. The ear cup foam is stiff enough to hold up, but still pliable. The plastic skin is smooth, almost slick. There’s not much that sweat or a little rain can do to these. Wearing them all day long with no breaks might get uncomfortable, but the sound dampening seems about as good as the numbers claim. ... show more

OMG!!! Why did I not buy these long ago! They do exactly what they are supposed to. They fit nice and are comfortable.

Ideal for eliminating harmful lawn mower noise. Should have bought them sooner since once your hearing is damaged the hear lost doesn't come back.
