Work well to get started but you be buying a better call if you are serious. Good for kids or new hunters. Gets your hands going in the right direction.

It has a clear and crisp sound to it, and is very loud once you get the hang of it. Definitely something I would recomend to the beginner or novice, as the yellow plate that comes with it is a great learning tool.

    • Good place to start for calling turkeys
We have a flock of wild turkeys coming through our yard almost every day, and I wanted to play. I bought this because it was compact and simple, and this has proved to be true. It takes a little jiggering to make the calls work as expected, but overall it is very simple. I hadn't used a turkey caller in decades, so I wanted something simple. When the slate becomes "polished" it is simple to resolve. Remove the cover and rinse the slate rather than sanding. Overall, we are happy. It is fun to see the turkeys freeze and look at us as we are "talking turkey." :) ... show more
