I lost my old nursing scissors & bought this pair, I love them! They’re sharp, magnetic so they stay on the inside door of my work lockers, the clamp works to unscrew tough IV port tubing and they fit perfectly in my pants pocket.

I love these scissors! I work in pre admission testing and normally use the bandage scissors and most of the time they are all that I need. Years ago as an ED nurse, I had the big trauma scissors. We recently had a code on our unit (rare occurrence!) and I needed to cut a patient’s clothing. It was definitely a struggle with my bandage scissors that just aren’t designed for heavy duty like the trauma scissors. I’ve gotten used to having smaller scissors that fit in my pocket and didn’t really want to go back to having big scissors. When I saw these small trauma scissors, I decided to try them out. They are bigger than bandage scissors but still small enough to fit in my scrub top pocket and they are very lightweight. I love how these how so many additional features like the tip functioning as a screwdriver and the strong magnet on one side of them. They are very sharp and if I ever have another code on my unit, I know they will work well. They also work for what I use them for daily on my unit. I love that these scissors include the oxygen wrench. I work in EMS and the oxygen wrench is 9/10 missing from the rigs. With these shears, not only do I now have scissors which I need daily, but I also have the wrench and don't have to lug extra pieces of equipment around. Plus that price point! Oh, and did I mention that they are sharp! I test cut through a reinforced, double-stitched knee on a pair of pants flawlessly. ... show more

This is perfect for most nursing tasks. They are not trauma shears, but I'm not stripping patients of clothing or cutting belts or straps. I like the IV tubing wrench feature. At one point the magnet was left behind on a metal surface.

I bought these when I graduated nursing school 2 years ago because I wanted something small and lightweight that would easily fit in my pocket. I honestly didn't think I would love these as much as I do! I work in an ICU and I use them daily. They fit in my cargo pocket easily and don't weigh my pockets down. I mainly use them for small jobs, ie. cutting wound care supplies, suction tubing but I have used them to cut clothes off of a pt and they performed well. I'm not sure how well they would work with thicker fabrics like jeans. I love the magnet on the handle. The magnet allows me to stick them on to a metal surface when I need to free my hands without having to lay them on the bed or stick them back in my pocket before I can sanitize them (gross). My most favorite thing about these though is the IV clamp! Honestly works better than using hemostats for loosening stubborn IV and tube feed connections. My coworkers are always amazed at how great these scissors are! I've even used the tip as a flat head screwdriver. If I had to choose one thing I disliked about these is probably the handles. As other reviews have mentioned, they are a little on the flimsy side but then again, they have held up to 2 years of use! If these do end up breaking, I will most definitely buy them again! ... show more
