  • ... year medical student and have been looking for a good tool bag for the past two months
Color: Navy
I’m a second year medical student and have been looking for a good tool bag for the past two months. I ordered a couple from prestige medical and didn’t love them as much as I thought I would (I gave one to my boyfriend and it worked for him), as well as a plain mechanics tool bag that was way too small. I’m a little pickier when it comes to my bags and was looking for certain things for this bag since I’d be using it for a long time. It had to have a shoulder strap, multiple pockets, be large enough to fit all my tools, and had to be affordable. This bag was perfect! The description said navy but the blue bag pictured on the site is a lot lighter than the one that I received (which was a good thing). I wanted the navy because it’s different from all the other black bags out there. It was large enough to fit my stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, case of tools, a portable dremmel and charger, and probably has room for a lot more. It’s about the size of a small bag and not bulky at all. The material is durable and seems like it’ll be able to withstand a lot. I love the convenience of the shoulder strap, especially since I tend to have a lot of things to carry to class. For the price it was worth it. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product to any of my classmates! ... show more

  • Perfect for travel with new baggage restrictions - great pockets inside
Color: Black
Certain airlines are cutting down size of your "personal" item" - and this fit exactly into the restriction I had. And, I put more in here than I ever imagined. It has two small zipper pockets on top of the main inside compartment - 1 fit my small camera, 1 fit my iPhone. In the same compartment, I was able to fit sunglasses, a full bose headphone case, and a GoLite case (light for jet lag that is pretty big). There are non-zipper elastic pockets along both sides of the main compartment - some hold pens, some held my wallet / passport, and a packet of Kleenex and typical travel stuff. The inside pockets are really useful. The outside side pocket was great for things I needed access to on the plane more easily. It only has 1 zipper - though the central main pocket has two, which you can secure with a cable tie if you are putting it where you want to add a tiny bit of security. There is an outer pocket on the back that was perfect for paper and travel / itinerary stuff. Great bag overall...though I do have to say it doesn't look remotely expensive or made out of any modern material. In a way, this is good though - since it's lower target for theft. I know it is marketed as a Medical bag...and I am not in the medical field - but if other people come across this for travel, I strongly recommend it. It held up well over 10 days too. No zipper issues, no hints of wear. ... show more

  • I love this bag!!
Color: Navy
Oh my gosh, I love this bag! I’ve been looking for just the right thing to replace my too-big nursing duffle for a couple of months, and this is it. It has several pockets on the inside, front and back, of varying sizes, two zipper pockets at the top of the back inside (both large enough to hold a couple of rolls of tape and/or a handful of alcohol wipes) a good-sized zipper pocket on the front, and a slip pocket in the back that my iPad (with a hard shell keyboard case) will just fit into. The design is perfect—it has a square, flat bottom that keeps it from tipping when full, and is wide enough to put both my storage clipboard and my stethoscope case in the middle and still have room for things in the pockets. The carry handles aren’t floppy and are a very good size, and are also a nice shape and padded without being squashy or too rigid. It’s very lightweight, but so far has proven to be very durable. The only changes I would make would be to replace the plastic carry strap rings with metal so they aren’t so noisy (others have mentioned this as well), and I would find a way to put a couple of water bottle holder pockets on the ends. ... show more

  • Lightweight, sturdy, could use bigger pockets and velcro on the handles. Shoulder strap not padded.
Color: Black
I bought this to replace the Prestige Medical Bag and this is 1.5 inches wider, a little taller and a little deeper. I was able to transfer my things from the old bag to the new one and have a nice bit of spare room which is what I expected. This bag doesn't bulge as much as it did with the Prestige with the stuff I put in it. One other that I considered was the Hopkins bag which was a little larger than the Prestige but a little smaller than this one. With these bags, getting the right size is really important as too small a bag gets stretched over time and fails and too large a bag means that it's a bit more getting out what you need. Two recommendations for improvement: 1) the front pouch is not that wide and it would be nice if the front pouch extended close to the sides of the bag for more storage, 2) some other bags have a Velcro wraparound on one of the top handles that can hold the two handles together so you could just grab that instead of having to gather the two handles. I may try to make something myself to keep the two together. My use of the bag is to carry stuff that I need to deal with the side-effects of cancer treatment. I've tried bags that were too small, too big, too short, etc. This bag looks to be perfect in size. The tablet pouch is pretty tight and not a place where I'd like to place something thick. My experience doing that is that it stretches out and becomes loose. I have an iPad mini 5 and it fits fine in it. I wouldn't use it for a paperback book though. The shoulder strap is not padded which can be an issue if you're carrying stuff that's moderately heavy. I grabbed a padded strap from another bag and am giving that a try. ... show more
