The black coating immediately begins to shave off as you start making metal to metal contact (like with any of the scissors). I have a hard time believing this would be used by anyone that's EMT or a first responders. They basically feel dirty all the time, I can't believe these would be useful for anything other than for arts and crafts. Also, the overall build and materials quality is average at best.
