I bought this as a first tablet for a college student majoring in graphics art. A competitor's product has gone way up in price recently, and I am very satisfied with Huion's tablet option. The screen and pen-feel are very nice on this Huion Kamvas Pro 16. It is responsive and accurate and I recommend it as a beginning tablet - and even as an intermediate tablet! In my short time with it, I noticed a few main differences between this and the higher priced model that I use daily. There is a weight difference, which signals quality internally. The Huion feels plenty adequate, but there is a difference worth mentioning. I can't guess at the particulars, but it's tangible. The software is intuitive and easy on the Huion, but the drivers are not as well integrated with the Windows environment as a competitor's. I give Huion very high marks in this regard! You must use the software to establish which screen is which and to get your initial setup working. This is easy to do and straight-forward, but it is a noticeable difference from a competitor whose drivers integrate flawlessly with the OS. However, said competitor's interface is clunky and unrefined with pop out windows and wasted space and redundant nonsense. It has been that way for as long as I can remember. Huion is NOT this way, and has done a tremendous job of putting everything in an organized, easy to understand interface. Fabulous job, Huion. It is relatively simple to outpace the Huion with the pen - but not as a beginner, and not in actual, thoughtful application. Repeated, long, fluid lines do skip or risk other inaccuracies, but you can only squiggle a line so far on a 16" tablet. This isn't a problem for someone learning to draw, learning a software, or manipulating an advertising layout. The Huion will easily match pace with thoughtfulness. Though the competitor's remote frustrates me with skips on a daily basis, the pen interface is always solid. This gives me pause for any Huion over 16" in size. It is, in my opinion, the fundamental difference that holds Huion in the beginner market. Maybe it's fine, but it leaves me hesitant to consider them as anything other than an initial investment. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Huion’s really stepping up their game with the new tablet monitor releases! All the Kamvas products are priced very reasonably, much more so than other brands (we all know which one I’m talking about). For some background before I start my review, I’ve used Huion pen tablets before (Q11K), the more expensive W brand pen tablets, and the iPad pro with the Apple pencil. I do art as a hobby, as well as for commission. The program I use with the Kamvas Pro 16 is Clip Studio Paint Pro. What I mainly look for in my drawing tablets is ease of use, workability in smaller work spaces, and cost efficiency. Pros (Not in any order): 1. Comes with accessories – Extra Nibs, Pen holder, Art glove, Stand, Stickers, Cleaning cloth… 2. Color Display was great; I didn’t have to adjust brightness, contrast, and hues too much to reach true to color. 3. Little to no parallax! 4. Very slim and light – great for travel and can be easily stored. 5. Driver installed must easier compared to Huion’s older tablets (just make sure to fully delete any previous tablet drivers). 7. 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity (I tried to show the range in the video). 8. 3-in-1 cable makes it much more organized for a smaller desk area like mine! 9. Shortcut keys were easy to set-up in conjunction with my program. Cons (Not in any order): 1. Initially, the drawing surface feels slightly rough, BUT after 30 min – 1 hour use, the screen/pen tip smooths. 2. Occasionally during linework, the line will ball up near the end (indicating a possible lag or “skip”) – DO NOTE, this only happened to me twice in the 12 hours I was testing it for the first time. 3. Only 6 shortcut keys; not a big deal for me since I mainly use 2 max, but could be a con for other people. Overall, I’m loving the Kamvas Pro 16! It’s the perfect size, where it gives you just the right amount of working space you need. When you have quality like this, especially for that lower price tag, you really have no need for the more expensive brands. The Kamvas Pro also comes in a smaller size for a lower price, which I think is great for someone who doesn’t need the larger working area.
