    • Very good sprayer but beware
This is a very fine battery powered back-pack style sprayer, but there are a couple negatives that merit the loss of a star from me. First of all, the instructions for operation and do's and don'ts are surprisingly limited for a sprayer of this quality. Other reviews have mentioned the same issue, so I was proactive and put together a cut n' paste document from informed reviewers who had good suggestions and remarks. Most importantly, there should be contained in the instructions/package a significant, noticeable warning that the wand and shut off valve (the "gun" portion of the spray mechanism) will seriously hold water and should be taken completely apart and drained if you are going to store it anywhere there is a remote chance of freezing. An unusual weather situation created an unpredictable freeze that resulted in the shut off valve of my sprayer cracking/rupturing. No bid deal, right, just order a replacement? Not so fast, they apparently have been back ordered for ages and there are not any non-OEM alternatives available. ... show more

    • Works Great But Kind of Expensive
So far I've used this unit to spray 14 gallons of TZone SE on my lawn ivy. DIdn't even need to charge the battery, worked great out of the box. Oversize tank with huge opening makes it easy to quickly mix your products with plenty of room to deal with the annoying foam layer that you always get. Great high volume spray that is really a game changer if you have to spray a lot of product on a large area. My only complaint would be why is this made in China plastic tank with a simple electric pump so expensive? Should be about half the price. I'm guessing they could make it in Michigan and still be profitable at the price they are charging. All in all I'd say it was a good purchase. We'll have to see how the Chinese pump and battery hold up over time. ... show more

    • Great easy sprayer.
I love this sprayer. This is my second Hudson sprayer, I wore the first one out over many years. I’ll use this To spray weeds and edges of my yard on 3 1/2 acres. I am a 5’2” 130 pound woman, and I needed a reliable sprayer. I have tried others and this one is by far the best and easiest for me. I don’t use it as a backpack because it’s too heavy for me, so I put it on a luggage dolly with bungee cords and I’m able to wheel it where I need it to go. This model is lighter weight than the last model I purchased Years ago and more compact which makes it easier for me to maneuver. What I really like about this sprayer is the ease with which the sprayer component is attached and the nozzles can be changed. This is the only sprayer I will ever purchase. ... show more

I’ve been gardening in my backyard for at least 10 years, and have used pump sprayers to spray various fertilizers, teas, oils.. what used to take an hour takes 15 minutes with this. I’m annoyed this wasn’t around years ago, but happy to have gotten this. Battery life is long and it comes with a mesh filter to ensure you don’t accidentally put debris in the thank (which could happen with compost teas). Press the on button, spray out some air, and you’re good to go. Two small downsides: the hose for the spray wand is kind of rigid. Maneuverable, but wish it had a bit more flex. On the other hand, you can tell it’ll last quite a while. The other downside is how heavy this is. I’m 5’3 and about 115 lbs. It’s nearly 40 lbs (weight of water + machine) when you fill it up to 4 gallons. So I fill it to 3 gallons max when I use it. No sense in throwing out my back. ... show more

    • Long battery, worked great
The battery is supposed to last for 30 gallons. It has lasted much longer than that. The battery also turns off when not spraying. The wand has plenty of hose and is long enough. There are several attachments, so you can pick about any spray you want. The spray volume is just about right for good coverage without having to wait for it or rush through it. this helped make sure I have covered the entire weed without wasting herbicide. The top opening is large enough to fill without a problem and has a screen to help keep debris out of the tank. The only complaint I have is that the 5 gallon capacity is too close to the top, which means you have to fill it slower to avoid suds from limiting the volume or spilling out. The wand has a 'lock' setting, so you don't have to keep pressing, which helps avoid hand fatigue. I have run about 40 gallons through it so far with no problems and the battery still shows full. Using this made spraying weeds so much easier and faster that I would not want to go back to anything else. Obviously, this is for large areas that required 10's of gallons for coverage. ... show more

The sprayer pump and tank work very well. Plenty of pressure and the lithium ion battery is superior to the ones that have anything else. The harness, as many others have noted, is thin and if you don't hang the unit low and resting your buttocks, it will dig a hole in your back. I've used it for hours and, nonetheless, I was still a little sore. Why I gave this sprayer a low rating was for two reasons: 1.) the sprayer tips are flimsy, all plastic! They should be brass, like the Field King. The moment you hit the tips on some solid object, they will break at the walls of the tip which are very thin - and fragile. 2.) Spare parts are basically non-existent. We needed to replace the hand valve - it took weeks to get. The wand needed to be replaced, another fragile part. Customer service said they have no ETA when parts will be available. Obviously, the whole or part is made in China. I repaired the tip with an internal copper sleeve and JB Weld. It's held up until the wand failed. The wand has a metric dimension (China) and a 1/4" piece of poly tubing fits inside OK. So we can get back to work, I am trying to figure out how to seal the ends of the poly tubing. Long story short: Don't buy this one or a Chapin. Instead, take a look at the Field King. I'm going to complain to Amazon about the lack of spare parts for Hudson. ... show more
