12/3 Gauge Heavy Duty Outdoor Extension Cord 100 ft Waterproof with Lighted end. We have a detached garage that is approximately 70 feet from the main house. The garage does not have electric utilities available and on occasion we have a need for electrical access for such items as lighting, power tools, EV charging, etc. We recently purchased an EV and now need to invest in some utilities at the garage. An expensive addition. However, in the meantime, we still have a need to charge our EV. I purchased the extension cord mainly for this purpose as a temporary solution. The EV pulls a constant 13-14 amps and requires several hours to complete the charging cycle using 120V charger. My concern with using the extension cord is that if it was capable to maintain a constant 13-14 amp draw without failing. A cord of this length and pushing 14 amps is just a giant resister. Resister's get hot. As it turns out, this extension cord performs perfectly. It easily supports the constant amperage draw for hours, I mean like for 40 hours continuously. The cord doesn't even get warm, even with the 12 gauge wire. So if you are in need of a very nice, weatherproof, flexible cord with lighted end, this is one you should probably consider. BTW. I've used this cord in 20 degree weather and it remained just as flexible as 70 degree weather - impressive. Would I recommend this cord, yes I would and I am considering purchasing another one. ... show more
