  • Hoya 55mm Filter Kit
Size: 55mm
When I think camera lens filters, I think Hoya. I’ve been using Hoya lens filters for over 30 years now and they’re the first thing I purchase along with any new camera lens I get. Best filter for the money.

  • Works as expected
Size: 67mm
I bought this set for my 67mm and 77mm lens. then tested both lens at sunset and during a hazy hot late morning sun. During my sunset shoot I thought they weren't working as expected then realized it was my error due to being new at really long exposure photography using high quality filters. Calculating exposure time is important, learning the intricacies of setting shutter speed, turn-off auto exposure and IS, add filter, switch to Bulb Mode etc - steps must be followed. LCD Screen visibility during shoot was challenging... again many steps. I was pleased with my results when viewed on a full size computer screen. Sure, some shots got tossed but again those were due to my miscalculated exposure time and not using a loupe. Based on other reviews I expected a color cast, easily fixed in post. Some shots - I kept the color cast for creative experiments. One pleasant surprise with this filter is that I could use it as a walk around filter in full sun. This happened by accident when I left the the Hoya filters on after a controlled early morning photo shoot using Hoya and a another brand. The Hoya UV, Circular Polarizer and ND8 Filters all worked spectacularly for managing highlights, haze and glare on an especially hot summer morning in a crowded space. They stayed on during the whole 30 minute late morning shoot. I could not find anything to fault these filters, used individually or stacked with their other filters. ... show more

  • perfect essential filter set for SONY AX53 camcorder
Size: 55mm
Yes this kit is kinda expensive, but these are the "big 3" filters you need for video, and they come in a nice carrying pouch, and they fit perfectly on the front of my SONY AX53 camcorder: Sony FDRAX53/B 4K HD Video Recording Camcorder (Black) UV filter is for basic lens protection (from dust, mist, etc.) and possibly a *little* bit of bluish UV rejection at high altitude (I was shooting at around 14,000 ft). The ND filter provides 3 f-stops of light reduction, useful for getting the lens back into the middle of its aperture range on bright sunny days (say from f/11 down to f/4). This is nice because (a) lenses are sharper in their middle apertures than at either end, and (b) if you want to shoot portrait-style interviews outside in the sun, you need to open the iris and lower the depth-of-field so you can have the subject in focus and the background pleasantly fuzzy. The Polarizing filter can be rotated for optimum reduction of glare off snow, ice, glass, and water, and also to make the sky look a darker blue so that clouds "pop" more in contrast. Because it has two layers, this filter is thicker than the others. This is also the hardest one to mount on the AX53, because the top layer rotates freely, so you need to get your fingernails underneath to the "fixed" bottom layer. On my SONY camcorder all of these rings work fine, although they are a bit tricky to get started. That's a SONY problem -- funky inset design for filter rings. Easiest to do with lens pointing skyward. None of the filters impinge on the camera field of view at wide angle. Although... if you're moving around handheld on wide angle sometimes you can see a black corner when the optical stabilizer makes a big correction. Also, if you stack these filters (two or more together) they will definitely start to show some vignetting on wide angle. ... show more

  • Great filters
Size: 55mm
I got the filter kit primarily for the UV lens to act as a protector on my camera so that I don't have to worry about smudges, dirt, dust particles, etc. getting into my actual lens. The UV lens does exactly what it's needed for. I haven't had a change to actually take pictures with the Polarizer or the ND filter just yet but I held them up to the sun to just see and make sure that they had the visibility of the filter capabilities and they definitely do show. This is a great starter kit as I'm new to photography. This works on my 18-55mm kit lens that came along with my camera. (If you don't know what size to get I would recommend going to the Brand sites website and select the lens that you have or are thinking to buy and under the additional specs list it will list the size for filters) The wallet that comes along with the filters is neat but personally it's too long for me. I like how thin it is but length wise it's not for me. I may go look for another filters case and that's just my own personal preference. Also the lens are brass bound (I believe) so it's not cheap feeling and you are able to stack the lens on top of each other if you want to. ... show more

Size: 62mm
these lenses were exactly as described. While I have used all of the lenses yet, the one that I have used was very easy to install. The quality of the photo was not compromised at all with the use. Thge lenses are packaged very well and the case that they come in fits very nicely in the gadget bag.

  • The best quality and value
Size: 67mm
This is my go-to filter kit for any lens that I may purchase. The kit has three filters which are the basics, the neutral density, the polarizer, and the skylight filter. The skylight filter stays on the lens as protection and it stands up to quite a few cleanings as well. If you are already going to get a skylight filter (HMC) why not get the kit and save money and receive two more filters practically for free. It is good to try the polarizer during the day as it creates a great effect on the sky portion of your photograph. The neutral density filter can be used for long exposure photography where you have a lower ISO setting and a higher quality image. Hoya is a trusted name among professional photographers the world over. You are receiving a great quality product at a fantastic price. Remember, the size of the filter is not equal to the millimeter reading that your lens is named after. This 67 mm kit goes on my Zeiss 100mm macro lens. Check the size you need for the lens you purchased before you buy a filter kit. ... show more
