I just stained my front door — which faces direct morning sun all summer — last year, and already it had become dull and hazy. I read about this product on some random site and decided to give it a try, especially since I had no interest in taping off my 20 small window panes in the door and re-staining. The difference after using this product is pretty astounding; the wood is now moist-looking and has the look of a door that was just refinished. This is clearly a high-quality combination of various oils. (Useless trivia: it’s sold out of Paso Robles, easily my favorite region for fine Cabernets.) We shall see how long the new luster of this product lasts. But even if it makes it to winter, it will be easy enough to add a quick coat this fall. One caution: don’t do like I did and either (a) get it on your skin (it burns), or (b) spill it on your porch (it leaves a residue that’s not easy to wash off — otherwise a good thing feature). And do wear safety goggles, as you do not want this stuff getting into your eyes. Also, expect honeybees to be briefly obsessed with the odor of beeswax.
