We had to use another piece of wood across the back to sturdy it up since it was rocky a lot with mild movement on top. We were able to make it safer and better fairly easily, but if you're not handy enough, I would not bother.

I saw this loft bed a while back on another site for like 4x as much, I wanted it so badly but it was wayt too expensive. I searched for playhouse here on Amazon and this beauty popped up! It's been sturdy, and functional since I got it 4 months ago. And my kids have not been gentle on it. Its big and spacious, and my 45" 5 year old can stand comfortably and play in here. This bed is great for small rooms. I kept my daughter's room simple by using the under bed space for additional items. I had to order a separate ladder since the ladder that came with is won't be functional because of the room size. Issue we had building it: one of the side panels was missing (they said they will mail it to us) We won't need it right now since that side is covered by the wall but we requested it in case we ever need to move to bed to a bigger room. Also, we had to drill one hole that didn't align correctly. We did inform the seller whom said he will let the manufactors know but besides those 2 issues my daughter loves her room now.
