The key is to keep the iron from clumping. If you keep these clump-free, they can last you up to about 14 hours. If you've got huge hands like I do, you're better off getting the foot warmers. These are better suited for women and children but still do a decent job with larger hands.

These stay hot at least 12h!! We couldn’t believe it!! Very small price for comfort! Carry them in your pocket or add to gloves or outside of socks around ankles in boots. Very durable pouch.
