The fabric is soft and not see through. It feels nice to the touch. It was easy to hang! I had it out of the box and in the ceiling in less than five minutes. It comes with hanging hardware. The twinkle lights are battery operated, but I like that because I didn't have to put the canopy near an outlet. We're using it paired with a pile of pillows as a reading nook in my girls' room, and we all love it! It adds whimsy and cheer to their space and provides a little privacy to escape into their books. We have 2 girls and they absolutely love sleeping inside these canopies! The are a little long for us, but that’s because their beds are raised off the ground. Installation is a breeze- we screwed a hook into the ceiling and hung from that. Sturdiness is good and quality is good.
