  • Decent quality at affordable price
Reasonably priced backpack. Used it to hike all over Southern California. After a dozen trips, including Mount Whitney (the highest peak in the continental US), I trust this gear.

  • Huge Pack, Sturdy Design
The packaging is good, and nothing arrived damaged. Since this backpack does not have an internal frame, it squishes down to a pretty small size when not in use. This pack has several pockets and pouches, and the zippers and fasteners all work well. Because it does not have an internal frame, how you pack it is really important. All of the padding is fine, and this pack definitely does hold a lot of stuff. But what actually earns this five star review is that, for this price point, this pack cannot be beat. It is not top-of-the-line, but it’s not cheap, either. It’s an above average mid-level pack for an excellent price. I use it for camping, but I can also see using it for travel. ... show more

  • Great backpack!
This backpack is made well, has lots of features, straps, and multiple pockets. The zippers work well and there’s no loose stitching.

  • Good but not great
Im not a professional, but this is not professional grade by any means. Light weight day trekkers. If you dont mind placing most of everything into one large compartment. This will definitely not last for more than a few years. A few bumps and scrapes against trees and rocky terrain and its a goner. You def can throw this thing if you get caught in a tight spot and need to climb. Fits mostly comfortably on me (6ft) but is uncomfortable on somone who's 5ft 6. The way the pack sits on the shoulders and hips makes it a bit awkward apparently. Pockets along the waistline are useless imo, unless you want to throw in a Payday or some cash - otherwise they're too tiny. I would not depend on this thing to help save my life on a 5-7 day trek in the Rockies. ... show more

  • Lightweight material, small buckles, no padding on hip belt.
I got this 50L backpack with the intention of trying a 3 day backpacking trip. The main compartment is roomy and has a sturdy enclosed brace that fits against your back. The lower compartment contains the rain cover and has a zipper to the upper larger compartment. There are mesh pockets on the side as well. The chest buckle has a whistle built into it. I like that there were lots of straps all over to secure your gear. The buckles are a little on the small side and I had to eyeball them closely to get lined up to snap together. While the size of the pack can adequately fit all my stuff, I’m not sure the thin material is up to the challenge of holding the weight. I weigh 210 pounds and 70 inches tall. I stuffed it with pillows to get a feel of the size and fit on my body. It fits my back but the hip belt rides way above my hips and has no padding. I think that the hip belt would make carry the load designed to be inside this size pack very uncomfortable. I will look to update review after my trip. ... show more

  • Great value
This is a terrific pack for the price. It’s lightweight and holds a lot of stuff while still being comfortable to carry. It comes with a rain cover which is a nice feature that all packs should come with. I have some high end packs and while this isn’t as good as most of them it’s also a fraction of the cost and will still carry everything you need. ... show more

  • Quality budget backpack with one deal-breaking problem, at least for me
This product has a well built feel. It is made of tough nylon, has good stitching, decent zippers and loads of straps. Compartments, pockets and straps are as described in the product description. I will note that pockets on the hip belt are best suited for items that can safely bend and flex - I would not put a cell phone in those pockets as pictured by the vendor. There is a lot to like about this product as a budget backpack, but there is one issue that make the product all but completely unusable for me. The shoulder straps on this pack have a mesh underside which grips fabric, forcing the fabric to slide across the shoulders as the pack moves. The feel is like sandpaper, at least when wearing a typical T-shirt. I'm sure the effect can be mitigated by wearing heavier fabric, but think about the ramifications of hiking in hot weather. Full disclosure - I have bony shoulders - others may not have the issue I've described. Still, I've done my share of hiking through the years and never had this problem. Maybe this particular mesh is in common use - can't say, given I haven't purchased a new backpack in years. Regardless, it doesn't work for me. I like to give a vendor credit for things done well - there is obvious quality and craftsmanship in this product. If the vendor changed the mesh under the shoulder straps to something that would slide across clothing rather than dragging the clothing across shoulders, I'd bump my rating to four or five stars - four as a backpack scaled against backpacks at large - five as a backpack in the budget class. As it stands, three stars is the best I can give. ... show more

  • Large, comfortable but not adjustable
This large capacity backpack (used for a weeklong trip at 60L) is okay. It is comfortable and does come with a rainfly with its own pocket but does NOT have a hard internal frame (uses a foldabke but ridged material instead). The waist pockets are way too narrow to really use for much. I like to put snacks, chapstick and a hankerchief but that would be very tight. It is constructed well from what I can tell. It does not have side access but does have bottom access. The mesh pockets in the side are large and deep enough to hold a regular size water bottle. You cannot adjust the height of the torso. I think the pavk would be great for someone who is not a serious backpacker but wants a backpack and doesnt want to spend too much money. At 60L I would want an internal frame and adjustable torso and side entrances at least. This bag would be better in a smaller version at 25L or 30L in my opinion. ... show more
