This bed is a great bargain. The bed arrived in the box and you are required to assemble the bed but the instructions are excellent and they provide a diagram to help you piece it together. The bed is sturdy and the metal finish is pretty resistant to any scuff or scratch you might accidentally have from time to time. Note: Don't forget the snap-in lock caps to the metal rods as these hold the rods in place and keep them from moving. I lost these and had to email the company (Homeelegance) to get replacements. They were quick to reply and provided me the parts at no cost. Overall a great value and easy to assemble as well as disassemble in case of a potential home move. ... show more

I wanted something cheap but sturdy. My daughter loved the design of this bed. I was a bit worried about creaking. It arrived when promised. The box was a bit larger than card table, but same shape. No damages! I just put it up a couple days ago, actually my 11 year old started by herself. Instructions were pictures only but easy enough to understand. It feels sturdy when I laid on it. I am not a fan of the slats/poles under the mattress but warned her against jumping. It is high enough for her to store things underneath and I appreciate the support legs in the middle of the bed. It took me maybe 30 minutes to an hour to assemble and it was quite easy. The bed is very sturdy and great for my teenager. It looks and feel really great. It's quite a steal for the price I paid.

Love this bed, I read the review before i bought it and was prepared to place a sheet of plywood on the bed for support instead of the slats. I put this bed together with my 7 year old. it went up fast, then measured it and went to HomeDepo and cut a piece of plywood for it. came home, drilled 3 holes on each side of the plywood and zipped tied it to the frame. it worked great. added a bed skirt and the mattress. looks great and very sturdy. My 3 year old loves the bed. his first big boy bed, he was so happy with it. and the price cant be beat. ... show more

    • Support leg broke off after 3 months of use - was completely rusted through.

When I first put the bed frame together I really liked it. It is easy enough to assemble by yourself. No heavy tools or equipment needed. Each individual metal piece is hollow and light weight. I have been using this frame for three months now with only a mattress. Behind the blanket seen in the photo there is a small leg (1/4 the size of corner leg) on each side of the bed that provides most of the support. One of these support legs has broken off and the center of the frame will break very soon without it. It wasn't because of loose/faulty screws. It's piece that was once welded together - it broke off pretty cleanly. It is completely rusted, which is probably why it broke so easily. I think the rest of the frame is rusted too and it's only a matter of time until it all starts falling apart. Perhaps it was stored somewhere cold and wet? Regardless, it is painted over very nicely so don't be fooled. ... show more

I needed a small extra bed for awhile and this will work just fine. My only problem was the dang foam packaging. They didn't use the better type foam, it was the foam that busts apart very easily. It was so bad, I could equally compare it to opening up a bag of glitter and trying to get it all picked up. You couldn't get the foam pieces off anything, they traveled around all over the place.
