    • I love the taste of my water.

We have city water with lots of chlorine. Water smelled bad, tasted bad, and was bad for the skin. After doing some Internet research nan reading reviews, we purchased this unit. We had our local handy man install the unit. It was installed in our garage after the cold water shut off and pressure valve. he installed the shut off valve on each side of unit as directions encouraged. The unit is a good three feet by three feet in size and fairly heavy. So we mounted it on a wall, making sure to add appropriate support board behind it. Probably took the handy man about two hours total. Its very important to make sure you hoo the plumbing up to flow from left to right. There are arrows on the unit. This is a two stage unit. First filter is for sediment and the second filter if for chlorine. We have soft water, but due to the water coming from a small river that usually is muddy, the water although clean did have sediment (you could see particles in glass of water when held up to light) and tons of chlorine. We flushed the filters prior to hooking up to house lines. When some water and was surprised that almost instantly the water was clearly and better tasting. I was expecting that it might take a day or two. Nope, water smelled better, looked better, tasted better within two hours. Its been about two weeks. This purchase was worth every dime!! If you've been thinking of a whole house unit, then don't look any further then Home Master. Now please verify what you have in your water Chlorine or Chloramines. Home Master makes different models based upon what you need to filter. If you have a well, then you probably should consider the three stage unit. ... show more

    • Cracked Housing and Severe Water Damage

I've owned this product for over three years now. Up until recently, it has performed magnificently. Our tap water felt great and made a noticable improvement in skin and hair health. Which was great. Emphasis on "was." Because, you see, the socket/unit, into which the filter housing is screwed, cracked. This happened overnight and, according to my water bill, dumped something like 7000 gallons of water into my garage, an adjoining interior room, and the great outdoors. Destroyed drywall, soaked, ruined carpet and pads, a gigantic water bill... Not fun. The fault lies entirely with the unit. I meticulously followed instructions so as to not over torque the filter housings. My PSI is under 80 - I know because I installed the pressure reducer myself, years ago. And of course, this happens at about the three year mark. Outside the meagre 2 year warranty. ... show more

This all started with a kitchen remodel. The old sink had an under the counter filter attached to a separate faucet. I decided I did not want to have 2 faucets on the new sink and began exploring alternatives. Then I thought about the in-line filters on the refrigerator, showers etc. A whole house system seemed to make sense. I checked and found our city water is treated with chorine so I ordered the DGC model. I decided this was beyond my DIY skills and hired a professional do to the installation. The unit is installed in the garage and per the plumber's recommendation is installed ahead of the water softener. The install cost more that the unit but it was money well spent as it was quite a project. So far so good: clean filtered water throughout the house with no loss of pressure or flow rate. I now only have to worry about replacing 2 filters once a year instead of all the old separate ones. ... show more

This filter is phenomenal. I had mine installed by a plumber, as the filter is not easy to install. It also takes us room near the hot water heater, so before ordering be sure you have the wall space. I do not use this filter for drinking water but for my shower. My hair stays cleaner for days longer! Also, my jewelry stays cleaner when rinsed in the filtered water. Well worth the money and it is a high quality product! ... show more
