If your thinking about it… DO IT! 1st… bed bugs? WHERE !? NOT HERE!! I did double check every piece first to make sure I laid the pieces out in my room turned the light off and waited… obviously I googled about them first to attract them and if I seen one it was going back… Nothing was crawling or anything so we were big free! Directions super easy to read, understand and do! 2nd … comes in 2 boxes… completely fine… thing is ITS SO HEAVY 😂 But that means good quality! (Hopefully) Nothing was broken, missing, or messed up. I’ve been debating for 8 months to buy this bed or not… and I finally just did it. I’m so glad I did… It’s been a few weeks and still no signs of bugs! (Hopefully stays that way and those reviews were just bad boxes or something) I love this bed it’s amazing and for the price you can not beat it. I went to Ashley’s furniture store to buy the same bed… over $1,000 and that’s not including set up and delivery… If your in a tight budget and you can easily read directions you can put this bed up! It also comes with all the tools you’ll need … besides a drill to drill the screws for the boards that mattress sits on… my drill needed a new battery so my mattress just sat on the boards for a weekend til I could get to the store for a new battery charger. I was scared the mattress would fall threw but it never moved. All and all BUY THIS BED!!!!! ZERO BED BUGS!! ... show more

I made this purchase for a spare bedroom. Came in two boxes that had old tape. Looked as if it had been returned. I wore gloves and noticed immediately that there was a couple of handprints and a couple stains of unknown origin, and also a few extremely black hairs. Gross. There is no way I could have returned the item alone so, I tried to ignore it. Because I feared there may be an issue with bed bugs, based on other reviews, I placed all parts in the garage on plastic first and then sprayed all parts with bed bug spray. I left in the garage overnight. After that I used water and diluted cleaning solution to remove the stains. Then I sprayed everything with stain repellant. I brought everything inside, one piece at a time and placed each item on the rug. I then sprayed everything with bug spray a second time and left it overnight. The next day a friend came over to help. We watched a few YouTube videos and made it through the assembly process. It took about 1.5 hours. Regarding the issue of sturdiness, even with the mattress on the bed, I can push the bed around with just one leg. To me, that doesn't mean read sturdy. The wooden slats also don't appear sturdy. I would definitely be concerned if more than one person at a time slept on the bed. I do not like the fabric. The linen looks cheap and I wish I had chosen another fabric and also a bed that has a T-bar for the metal part. This bed only has one bar not two under the mattress. Seems the cross bar feature would make for a more sturdy bed, especially for high capacity people or couples. I'm not sure how long the bed will last. I've slept on the bed twice to be able to write a fair review. Overall, the bed sleeps fine for a spare, but I wanted a bit more than that. If this had been a smaller item and it arrived with hair and handprints, I would have returned it. That's the issue with big or heavy purchases, the headache associated with the return process is what makes accepting flaws easier than it should be. The bed came in 2 shipments, both arrived ahead of schedule, which was great since my mattress arrived early. My boyfriend helped with the assembly, which was pretty easy (about 1.5-2 hours). I would have been able to do it myself no problem, but of course having assistance makes it go faster. I would recommend a power drill when you screw in the slats at the end; it'll save you time and strain on your wrist. The upholstery is pretty nice (I work in an architecture firm and previously did residential interior design so I know my fabrics); it doesn't look cheap and is relatively soft but feels durable. Stitching was fine and linear (no wonky threading or zig-zaggy stitching). The tufting is more subtle, the buttons aren't super deep so it adds just enough texture to the headboard. The leg finish isn't the best, so be careful with them; if you knock them around I can see the paint chipping off pretty easily. They come with felt pads which is nice if you have hardwood floors. The headboard doesn't go all the way to the ground, so if you're looking for a flushed, tufted look this is not the bed for you. I however liked the open access, so I can reach our outlet behind the bed. The arms on the side hide the air gap, and with pillows, blankets, and a comforter you don't even notice the gap like other beds. If you have a boxspring, this won't be an issue for you. I bought a latex mattress (9" high) and that hides the gap pretty well (I will try to add photos later). There's still about a 1-2" air gap before the headboard starts, but you can't see it with the finished bed and pillows. The nailheads on the arms add a nice touch a bit of extra detail and are linear, again no wonky misalignment. I've looked at beds from Pottery Barn, West Elm, RH, etc. and I liked a few, but not enough to excuse the price. So I settled for something that is a huge step up from my college days (lol) and I am so happy with this purchase. You just can't beat this price and I was surprisingly happy with the quality of the craftsmanship (sturdy, easy assembly/disassembly, not squeaky) and the fabric. I can now wait a while, save up money, and buy my dream bed in the future (I'm too used to custom pieces, they're just so expensive!). For now, this bed is great. ... show more
