  • A great piece of mind
Worried about your system not doing well or how well it is established? is it ready for new fish, are the important parameters (Temp, ph, and ammonia) ok for my specific needs? Worry no more and be ontop of the dynamic situation with the seneye. Instructions for set up are clear and you have to follow them precisely to set it the unit otherwise it will be frustrating. Once it is set up you can sleep much better! ... show more

  • Limited and unreliable
pH readings are wildly inaccurate even when following setup instructions perfectly. I have a calibrated pH meter so I was able to trim the unit to the correct reading but it still fluctuates when the calibrated unit does not. Absent that, I don't know how you'd calibrate the unit out of the box. Tech support says the unit cannot read below 6.4 yet the unit gave me readings as low as 6.29. Not a concern because it's a low pH tank but the software will not let you set an alert line below 6.5. Which makes it less than useful for low pH tanks such as discus or in a tank with injected Co2. Temp and ammonia seemed to be more or less accurate. Mobile number registration for text alerts doesn't seem to work in the U.S. Still could not get it to work even after calling tech support. Tech support is responsive. Amending my original review to call out that their tech support proactovely reached out to me and shared some additional information about their efforts to solve the pH accuracy issues. Customer service and follow-up is rare these days so giving credit where due. ... show more

  • ***********************DO NOT BUY********************************************
This product does not give accurate PH readings at all. You cant get tech support because they are located in U.K and the hours of support there do not work in the U.S.A. I emailed them regarding support for my brand new seneye and slide and still after 8 days cannot get a proper answer on how to get the monitor to read correctly and it seems like they just find more questions/excuses to state. I have several monitors on my tank and they read correctly. I tested the water and the tester tests correctly but the seneye is garbage readings haven't changed in 8 days there frozen and giving very low readings. There are NO INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PACKAGE WHATSOEVER they claim that's because they are eco friendly, That's great but how does that help me the guy who purchased the product from them. It don't !!! Don't waste your money on this monitor its useless and support is worse. THERE ARE MANY OTHERS AVAILABLE THAT WORK!!! ... show more

  • Really excited about this gift for my wife but it ...
Really excited about this gift for my wife but it has been a total bust so far, hoping to power through and get it working somehow. Every aspect seems to have a problem. Website has not been loading to let me get to the dashboard and view my information, desktop application and website are not recognizing my slide code, phone application does not work as you can not change any settings (temp stuck at C, etc). I will update this review if anything changes but as of now I am regretting my purchase, and the fact that I made the mistake of throwing the boxes away while waiting the 48 hours for my slide to soak. My only hope is that they can fix their website and somehow accept my code, my device is not recognized but somehow I am still pulling readings from my tank. The code is supposed to be part of an algorithm so I don't really trust the readings I am getting. Wish the light sensor worked as well without paying for an upgrade, I paid for the device which includes the sensor but not access to it. If you do not purchase the web server, you will need to have a PC connected to it and always on in order to receive updates about your tank. We do not have a PC right next to our tank so we have a netbook connected to it under the stand. Just some information on the logistics of this product. ... show more

  • First Impressions, subject to change as I adapt to it
I've only had the Seneye running for a few days. The basic unit is easy to install if you follow the guide step by step, The device requires the user to create an online account and once done, upon sync'ing with the account, negates any option to return it. The need for a extended length USB connection required the purchase of additional hardware (inexpensive). The unit right out of the box gave significantly differing readings than my existing measuring devices (which I fully trust), but I was able to get somewhat similiar readings with the TRIM option. Not unit for unit, but close enough for trending readings. I have my thresholds currently set so I do not get any alerts, but once I get comfortable with it, will change the min/max values to start receiving alerts. As far as the alerts go, I wondered what good they are if you are not home to do anything about them, Personally I prefer not to know that all the fish are dying and I can't do a thing about it. was planning to utilize the lux reading capability, but I seem to have missed the sentence that to do so requires an additional $60.00 purchase. I will stay with my current lux meter. My last petty complaint is that the rubber suction cup has never held the unit in place for more than a hour, if than. On yeah, it also pulses a red light about every 30 seconds, when it takes a reading (I assume that is what it is doing although the Connect App does not reflect a new reading) into the tank which I find annoying. Only time will tell whether I will keep the Seneye running or not. After using the TRIM option, I have been having very consistent readings when comparing the Seneye data with other measuring methods. All in all, the functionality is proving very convenient, especially when it only takes a click of the mouse. ... show more

  • Must have essential without the need of calibration!
Awesome Product, does exsactly what was promised and no calibration necessary. Bought a cheap used laptop and leave it connected 24/7... but you can always buy the Webserver separate if you don’t have the need or want for a direct connection 24/7. Mobile Alarms and notification that can be configured individually work great and the IOS app with accesss to the dashboard gives you the remote features you would be looking at. Really the only digital solution for measuring NH3 (free Amonia). ... show more
