Pretty impressive for a budget camcorder. There are some really nice features, such as the detachable mic. It will work just fine in very well lit areas or outside daylight. However, there's not enough light to get quality footage. There's no place to add a light, which would be great at LEDs are so inexpensive. It comes pretty much ready to use. However, they only include a 32GB san disk card (normal, not micro). I immediately went out and bought a 256GB card to insert because I didn't want to run out of space in the middle of our event, espcially when recording on 4K. Playback on flip out screen is helpful. This is a completely serviceable camera, out the box it will work fine for recording home movies and be more familiar to folks who didn't grow up in the phone camera age. However, the cameras on most modern phones from the the last few years will absolutely obliterate this in terms of picture quality. It is not great at capturing motion, so still scenes will be best where you do not move the camera a ton. The picture gets blurry fast and the focus is not speedy enough to keep up. As a webcam, this works fine. Better than your average USB deal, but also way more of a pain to set up. And the built in mic is... quite bad. Even the attachable boom mic is not ideal, very echoy sounding. All in all, the camera is ok. Something that seems more akin to a children's toy than a serious or even semi serious tool. ... show more

The filming quality is not great. Pictures are decent. It’s an ok 1st camera for maybe a pre-teen or for just recreational use but if you’re really serious about film quality I’d pass. This is a nice starter video camera set up, it has everything that you possibly need to start recording a video. The buttons are a bit loud and it can be heard in the recording. I think this will be good for an aspiring young videographer, great item as a Christmas gift to a child.

    • Great Camera for the Price - Crisp Picture
This is a great camera for the price - compact, lightweight, easy to use, and a surprisingly crisp picture. The camera controls are intuitive and everything is well labeled. This kit comes with everything you need to get going quickly: two batteries, all the cables, a mic with an attachment shoe, and even a small remote. The remote makes it possible to use this one as a solo webcam and it's light enough to easily mount for that purpose. The digital zoom is smooth quick. The microphone included isn't the absolute best quality in terms of sensitivity but for anything within a few feet it's just fine and at this price point it's a great addition to the total package. I got this video camera to record our grandson's baseball games, the video quality is actually pretty good and it does record at 4K @60fps and I like that you have the option to change the resolution and frame frame, the zoom works great too with very little loss of the video quality, one feature I thought was really cool is that this video cam can also record in slo-motion and it can also take still pictures, with all that said even though the video quality is pretty good the camera does not have any sort of electronic image stabilization so the videos can be a little shaky, it also came with an external mic that mounts to the cold shoe on top of the camera but the mic really picks up a lot of background noise and because the mic plugs into the back of the camera the cord gets in the way when using the hand strap on the side of the camera, it also came with a sun hood shade that was super easy to attach and it does work pretty good when filming outside, but my favorite accessory that was included with this video camera is the handgrip stabilizer mount, it doesn't necessarily help with the shaky video but it does make it easier to hold and maneuver the camera, it also came with 2 batteries and the battery life is really good, I have been able to get almost a full hour of continuous recording from each battery, it also came with a carrying case, the only issue I have with the case is that it is only big enough for the camera and the 2 batteries, so there is no where to store the mic, lens hood or the handgrip, all in all though am pretty happy with the overall quality of this little video camera. ... show more
