I bought this cabinet to hold supplies for our foster kittens, and it's exactly what I wanted. I've had it for a day and it's already half full of kitten stuff. It was easy to assemble, fits perfectly in the corner it's in, and blends in with the black furniture in the room. I look forward to rounding up the toys and medical supplies and whatever else doesn't need to be in the kitchen. Honestly, this is one of those products I need to review because some of the other reviews are so silly. The first silly complaint: "It looks cheap." It does look cheap, and I expected that because it is cheap. If you want something to look nice in your living room, you'll have to spend a lot more than this. Second silly complaint: "Some of the screws don't have pre drilled holes and I had to get my drill!" You guys. SCREWS ARE SELF DRILLING. It was a little bit of a pain, yes, but they are tiny, tiny screws and it only took some pressure to get them started. I didn't even tap a little starter hole with a nail, though some people might want to do that. It was fine. Mildly annoying at worst. ... show more

This item arrived quickly, all required parts were included. The instructions were clear and adequately concise . All parts were marked with a numerical sticker (little sticker on edges) and following the sequence of diagrams assembly was accomplished in about 1 1/2 hours by one person without rushing. The completed project is as represented in the advertisement. UPDATE : I have had this product for nearly 3 years now and it has held up well under light use. I found a need for more shelf area than it afforded so I create this improvement to the shelf cabinet using some 3/4 X3/4 inch poplar square dowel and 3/8 inch round birch dowel purchased here at amazon.com. by measuring and blind drilling the square dowels to accept the round dowels I created a shelf space that doesn't interfere with the view of what is on the lower shelf in that cubical making it that much more functional and actually stronger as a whole . I suppose this product is a summary of what you make of it coupled with how you treat, in my case is wonderful ! ... show more

I was hesitant to buy this because of some of the negative reviews, but I'm glad I ignored them. It is exactly what one can reasonably expect for the low price - you are not going to get a high-end piece of furniture for this price, but you will get a decent-looking storage cabinet. It's relatively easy to put together and the instructions were adequate. I was able to put it together with no assistance in a couple of hours. If you want a really nice cabinet, you will have to spend more money, but if you are looking for okay-looking faux wood storage on the cheap, this is a good choice. I'm glad I bought it, and if I had a bit more room, I'd buy another one. ... show more

Well i rolled the dice and took a gamble I wouldn't get one of the bad ones so many other reviewers did..and I lost. For the price I bought it to hold all my sons homeschool supplies in. I knew it was that cheaper particle board material as nearly all furniture is anymore. But this is the lowest quality in that i have ever seen. As soon as I opened the box I saw one of the side pieces was cracked. Flipped it over and realized it wasn't cracked, it was completely split on both sides and hanging together by a thread. Before taking anymore parts out you can see the other side piece is completely broken in half with a big gap between it. It is now out of stock so a replacement is out of the question and I was only able to get a partial refund for this and had to eat more than half the cost. I buy a LOT of stuff from Amazon and this is probably one of, if not the only, product I would say they need to stop selling. Very very disappointed and I don't recommend taking the risk that you will receive an intact product as even if it wasnt broken i wouldnt see it lasting very long at all. Notice this issue with alot of Hodedah product reviews. Will not buy another product of theirs. ... show more

Used as horizontal cabinets instead of vertical filing cabinet. Had to drill new holes for doors to change direction but it's the best bang for your buck after doing much research on buying or building cabinets. I put them together myself and had a friend change the doors and hang them up for my home salon. Back of cabinet is Very cheap unsturdy thin particle board. Had to reinforce it in order to hang it. Not it's intended purpose so that's my own critique. Everything else is great. Many of the door hinges came broken but I gorilla glued then and they're just fine. So this is exactly as pictured. A good size storage cabinet. Its not too heavy in box and very easy to put together. It took us 45 mins and I had a little help but I don't think a second person is really needed. A nice surprise that I was's aware of is that it came with magnets on the doors to hold them closed - small thing but I didn't even think that was included with this model. Only negative is that the "wood" surface isn't the greatest looking and over all it does look a little cheap. Truthfully, it is a cheap little storage cabinet and that's totally fine. For $50ish I wasn't expecting the greatest piece of furniture ever created. This looks ok, was reasonably priced, easy to put together, and holds what I wanted it too.
