  • Nice value portable mini-welder!
ARC200D purchased 2024-01-19 arrived 2024-01-25 HITBOX 130A Stick Welder,110V/220V Dual Voltage 2 IN 1 ARC MMA Lift Tig Welding Machine with Synergic Control,Mini and Portable Welder Machine with Hot Start Arc Force Anti-Stick LCD Digital Display Acquired for ~$50 on sale/discount. I have only burned a few 309 (stainless steel) electrodes (3/32"x12") with EXCELLENT results so far. Plugged in to 110Vac, 110A setting (likely NOT a real 110A), max arc-force, and max hot-start. I'm just a hobby welder with some experience using Stick, MIG, Flux, and TIG processes. I am constantly learning and improving welding knowledge and skills. Some of my welds are looking "almost" professional ;-) I have NOT tried 220Vac but in using other mini-welders I am pretty certain performance only gets BETTER when more voltage/current is available to the welder. Welding mask included with the budget welder is almost garbage. I will save it for EMERGENCY use only when my auto-dark helmet fails. I may use the dark lens for Totality Eclipse viewing this April ;-) I highly recommend buying an auto-darkening helmet for anyone who don't already HAVE one. Mine are $25-$40 versions and are THE BEST welding tools I've ever acquired. My welds improved DRAMATICALLY once I could SEE my starting point and initial puddle formation. Ground clamp is flimsy with NO COPPER near the jaws. It works but could be better. The Stinger clamp I received is very aggressive and holds onto electrodes VERY WELL. No complaint there! The cables are a bit short and I'm certain are CCA (copper coated aluminum) wire. This was EXPECTED since REAL copper welding wire about 2x longer than supplied would cost MORE than I paid for this welder! The included cables and clamps are adequate for light hobby welding. If you are planning to use this welder for more ROBUST welding projects then a ground-clamp and wire upgrades are recommended. Overall I rate this $50-$60 budget mini welder 5 stars. IMO I got MORE than I paid for! If needed I'll buy some longer COPPER wire and a swap out the (<$1) light ground clamp for a much better one. I have #1 below ~$6, or could order #2 if needed. #1) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KX6C9NM #2) https://www.amazon.com/Bolsen-Welding-Electrode-Processing-Professional/dp/B07XXZ79B4 If I spend another $50 for upgrades it will still be a decent stick welder (with lift TIG option) for about $100. An excellent value IMO :-) ... show more

  • Light, effective and very portable!
When I opened the package I was very surprised by how small it is, I had read comments about it and I even saw a video where they did several use tests and yet it seemed smaller than expected, now don't get carried away by its small size, it is very Robust, I can work with electrodes up to 4mm without problems, I am not a professional welder, I am just learning so I use it occasionally just for domestic work, I could not guarantee durability under the intensive requirements of a blacksmith workshop, it is a piece of equipment More oriented towards portability, it has hot start and arc force to fine-tune the use in the different compatible alloys. Pro: - Robust, reliable and very portable - Digital screen with all the information you may need - compatible with 110 and 220, the device detects it automatically. Cons: - Small screen with limited visibility in very sunny environments - Upgradable ground clamp - The dial does not reflect the amperage, it is a 130 amp unit. The disadvantages that the equipment has are easily solved, replace a more robust ground clamp and with respect to the dial, I have prepared a table with the approximate equivalents to adjust the dial according to the needs you have, I attached it in the photos sample, 130 real amp is more than enough for the typical needs of an occasional welder, for higher amperages I always recommend using 220v, it is a device with an excellent price-value ratio and of course I recommend it, I would buy it again without hesitation. ... show more

  • HITBOX 130A Stick Welder
This little welder is powerful. Welded 2 pieces of 1/8 steel together as soon as I got it. I would say it will weld 1/4 inch with no problem. The thing I was disappointed about was the digital display could not be seen outdoors but it does weld very well.

  • Excellent Little Welder
The HITBOX 130a 110/220 Volt welder worked well beyond what I expected. Through the years I have used Welders from The Lincoln Red Box to 500 Amp P&G DC MG equipment for Fixtures, repairs, custom applications at the Electrical rebuilding shop. The little Hit box worked well on 120 or 220volts input. The 220 seemed to work a bit better with less (arc force - hot start) adjustment while using the same test metal pieces. I used Hitbox on 1/8 by 1 inch flat stock. The unit could easily weld the two test pieces..Probably good on 2"x 2"x.125 box tubing. It seemed the little welder is sensitive to the "ARC force" setting and the Hot start on 120.0 volts. The ARC Force and Plunge or hot start do make a difference but touchy dialing that in. All in all, I was surprised how well the little welder worked and like the light weight and tiny footprint. An excellent machine for a quick, light duty weld rather than dragging out a big machine stinger, ground cable etc. Beginners need to go to YouTube for instructions. The supplied handbook is not very instructive.as well as the display options are very hard to see. ... show more
