I have several tools from Hilmor at this point and I'm very happy. The pipe bender is no exception. The fit and finish of the tool and bending heads is nice and smooth. I've had no problems bending copper and electrical conduit. This particular kit contains the most commonly/frequently used sizes. I like this bender. If you need to have perfectly bent line sets then this is what you need. It is very simple to use. I can get it out and bend a line in less than a minute. The only issue I have run into is that if you over bend the pipe (I put maybe a 100 degree bend on 5/8") the line gets stuck in the track and it can be a little bit of a bugger to get out. I can do most of my bending by hand, so this is not ultra necessary, being as it is supposed to be used on soft lines only. I have used it to make my work a little more professional. It's kind of fun to watch customers reactions when they see pull this out. I think they think it is a crossbow or something. haha. ... show more

    • Best tubing bender I ever bought
I have bought both Malco and yellow jacket tubing benders just like this one and they all break in two years maybe up to four for my yellow jacket bender. The gears and the ratchet bender and this is very positive. The pieces that the pipe bend through are made out of aluminum not cheap plastic like most more other expensive products. I have been using it now for two months and absolutely love it, and would recommend it to any HVAC contractor I’ve been doing this job for 24 years and when this breaks I will definitely buy another unless it’s within 2 to 4 years like the other pieces of crap that most people already have. I am a ham radio operator and build many antennas. One antenna that I build is called a Moxon and requires 90 degree bends in tubing at the 4 corners another is a square loop. This hand held bender does the job with out incident or crimped wrinkling on the inside bend. It is a great tool and does the job. I can not recommend it high enough. I have bent 1/4 and 5/8 and 3/4 inch aluminum all with out any deformity on the inside bend nor do I have breakage on the out side bend and no noticeable flattening any where on the bend. I get a smooth radius each time. I do wish they would have included instruction on how much the bend stretches the tubing and how to lay out a bend taking this into account. My solution to this is to cut the tubing ends long and bend then cut the ends of the tubing to make the fit. This is not critical for me but it is still not the most efficient. Otherwise this is a 5 star machine that I have not been able to break and that in itself is something. ... show more
