This thing came packaged in a very large box and was well-protected. The metal is very flimsy and I'm impressed that it wasn't bent or dented - it arrived in perfect condition. The capacity is very large, and I'm thankful I can stuff muffins and bread in here, out of sight. There are better-looking bread boxes, but it is utilitarian and does what it is supposed to do. The breadbox itself is OK although a bit flimsy. Glad it arrived in good shape since there was no packing material around it inside the box. The tape used to keep the roll door from opening during shipping was clearly visible after removal and NOTHING removed the marks. I tried alcohol, nail polish remover, paint remover and Goo Gone. It wasn't really residue as it seemed more likely a heat/sun damage type chemical reaction. I almost decided to return the product but then I tried a Mr Clean Magic Eraser sponge. It mostly did the trick. At least enough to decide to keep it. It's not perfect. I would recommend using the sponge gently and going "with" the "grain". I needed to put a rubber mat under so it would stop sliding around on the quartz counter. As far as keeping the bread fresh is a wait and see. It does hold a lot. Long loaf of french bread, 2 pkg's tortillas, 1 pkg of bagels and half a loaf of wheat bread with room to spare. ... show more

The bread box works ok with its good size and the type of lid that it has but am disappointed that it doesn't have feet on it to prevent it from sliding whenever I open the lid. Wishing I had returned it for a refund.
