  • Easy to assemble
So far staying in place

  • Using for different purpose
I ordered these greenhouse hoops for a different purpose, to make holiday arches. Most use pex or pvc piping for large arches, but they take up more space and I wanted something compact and easy to store plus my arches are covering smaller areas. Upon arrival, I was a bit skeptical on how well they would bend, but after connecting, they arched surprisingly well and didn’t snap. The poles do go directly into the ground and the connectors are easy to work with. One dislike is the net clips. Even though I am not using them for netting, I tried to clamp them on the poles and it took some work, they also don't give the best hold so I would ensure to have a backup method. I did test to see how tall I could make the arches, the more stakes I added, the less stability it had. If you are needing over five ft, I would recommend elsewhere, but the description does state 2.5-3ft is the best for these. ... show more

  • Goes together fairly easily and covers smaller beds nicely
The flexible poles and connectors fit well together, and though pretty thin (much thinner than I was expecting!), they bend nicely. When well secured into the ground and then covered, they are plenty sturdy for light plastic or netting. Definitely made for short plants or just starting young plants. They fit nicely in the small raised bed that we just started putting together in the fall. ... show more

  • small but mighty
I got these for my raised bed garden boxes. Out of the box, to be honest, I wasn't really impressed. The support rods are smaller in diameter than a drinking straw. I was surprised, however, when I actually put them to use, they didn't bend or buckle at all even with heavier frost fabric draped on them; the little green clips to hold the fabric on are ok, but I used cheap little plastic pinch clamps to help reinforce. I'm sure the clamps I added are not necessary when using netting or seeding plastic. I will probably add a couple half-moon tiny pipe clamps or cable holders to the inside of my garden boxes to help them stay upright without the need to push them so far into the soil. The only I don't like is that this go directly into the ground as opposed to having a stake on each end; so you lose a little height and they tend to vary in height because you can't get each one stuck in the ground at the exact same depth. The thing I do like is that when I don't need them for the season any more, they store with a very small footprint and don't take up much room in the garden shed. I don't see an issue with longevity; these should last quite awhile and if they handle frost fabric, they would with no question handle seeding plastic and insect netting. It'd be nice if they were a little cheaper, but if you only need a set or 2, these will work for you. ... show more

  • Perfect for my 3 x 8ft raised beds.
I bought this set to use I. The spring so I could get my vegetable plants out of my small green house and into my raised garden beds earlier in the season. I live in TX and I would like to get a full harvest of peas and spinach in the spring. This year I planted them as soon as seemed safe but then our weather got hot quickly and the peas does and spinach shot to seed seemingly over night. I am hoping to use the plastic to cover the plants at night so I can plant the two crops earlier in the ground as pea sets don’t work as well. When I received the set the poles seemed thin and flimsy but I put up one rows worth in one of my garden beds and clipped a plastic sheeting cover over it to test it out. It went up very quickly and was quite sturdy. My beds are in a pretty sheltered from the wind location so they should work great. The clips very a bit hard to get set but once I did it a few times it was easier. I look forward to using this set in the spring….and to getting lots of peas! ... show more

  • My own little greenhouse
I am so excited about using this. We have already got out everything and put it up inside our garage to test it out and as soon as our plants get big enough we're gonna transfer them outside with the weather cover, so it will be able to continue to grow all year round. ! Awesome product for a small budget ... show more

  • Poorly made, inconsistent pole sizes made it difficult to put together, clips too tight for net
In concept, this could be a good product - but execution makes it frustrating to assemble and (in my opinion) practically useless. First, all the components are shoved into a cardboard box - no small bag to hold the small metal connectors from getting all over, and no user instructions. (It is pretty straightforward and intuitive, but some tips/options would be appreciated.) Next, the poles are made of (I believe) fiberglass, have (mostly) roughly-cut edges, and inconsistent diameters - both of which makes it difficult (sometimes impossible) to insert into the metal connectors. In fact, there were many poles that one end would not fit into the bracket at all, and the pole tip started shredding with my repeated attempts. However, once/if you get them attached, the poles/connectors hold together well. The poles are sturdy and bendable, but create a lot of tension when forming a hoop - so you better have dense soil to insert them into (to hold the shape). The clips are plastic, and are so tight to the pole that they are hard to attach alone - and impossible with netting underneath. I have found the vendor’s descriptions of “high quality” and “easy to affix” to be incorrect. ... show more

  • Fine for narrow rows, a little too thin to be very useful for wider rows/areas
These are fine if you have a narrow row or space to cover, no wider than two to three feet, but anything wider than that and you will need some sort of support for the middle of the arc. We have a dozen five foot wide by 10 foot long raised garden beds on our farm and are planning to make one of them a winter greenhouse. While connecting them is easy and forming an arch is easy, with the distance we need to span, these just aren’t stout enough to support even lightweight plastic without some sort of center support system. We would need poles probably twice as thick for a five foot wide area. So we’ll probably end up making a center beam from leftover wood scarps or using them for a smaller greenhouse type project. I really like that the poles are easy to connect and that it comes with clips for whatever cover you’re using. ... show more
