  • Get these; no need to pay $300 at the optometrist
Color: 6-pack Readers: 2 Black 2 Gunmetal 2 Silver Magnification Strength: 1.75 x
These are excellent, affordable, AND stylish. I'm new to needing glasses. Even with my vision plan it would cost at least $200 to get glasses from the optometrist. I was visiting a different doctor one day, however, and I asked the nurse about her glasses, and she told me that she buys them online and that they work just as well. Comparing styles, I found the $300+ frames at the optometrists to be largely ugly and plastic. In contrast, I found these handsome metal frames on Amazon and made them my own. They work extremely well. I did visit the ophthalmologist and find out my prescription. Although my left eye only needs 0.5x and my right needs 1.75x, the 1.75x works well for both eyes. At the optometrist you can get fancy features like special lens coatings, but in my experience they aren't worth it. My wife once bought glasses with scracth-resistance and they scratched almost immediately. We couldn't even replace the lenses, because they change the styles quickly in order to force you to buy a whole new pair. In contrast, you can get a 6-pack of these excellent glasses, and if one breaks, it's no big deal whatsoever. You can buy around 60 here for the cost of 1 from the optometrist. If like me you have a mixed prescription, you can consider these other glases by GAMMA RAY < https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P1IGXY8 >, which are almost identical to the HIGHLIKE ones on this page. From my experimentation, it may be possible to pop out the lens and replace it with a different magnification (by buying another pack of glasses). The HIGHLIKE glasses, in contrast, have the lens glued in much more firmly, so I was not able to remove it without breaking the frame. Both the GAMMA RAYs and the HIGHLIKEs are excellent. The HIGHLIKE costs slightly less, comes with a snazzy sleeve for each pair, and has the magnification printed on the frame. Apart from the potentially removeable lens, the plus side of the GAMMA RAY is that they have the color silver. In sum, if you need reading glasses and don't want to pay extra money for no reason, these are for you. ... show more

  • HIGHLIKE Reading Glasses Men, Metal Stainless Flex Readers with Soft Cases
Color: 4-pack: 2 Black 2 Gunmetal Magnification Strength: 1.5 x
I purchased the 150 strength. They are good quality. Spring arms to put on and off and nice to work with at the computer. I'd purchase them again.

  • "Hard to break"? They kinda are.
Color: 4-pack: Black Gunmetal Brown and Silver Magnification Strength: 1.5 x
I finally did it. Fell asleep with a pair on and at some point they fell onto the floor. Half hidden under some clothes, I managed to half way flatten them out by stepping on them. I figured they were done for, but being the cheap as... frugal person I am I tried bending them back into working order. This has never worked for the 10 or 12 pairs I've owned before these. But somehow, miraculously, I was able to bend them back completely straight without breaking them. I wish I would have taken pictures but I was convinced they would break. Fast forward 3 days, once again I fell asleep reading. This time I woke up with the same pair on the pillow next to me. This time the arms were bent almost 90 degrees, sticking straight up, parallel to the lenses. I'm wearing them right now to write this review. I can tell the metal is getting weak at the joints but they are still clinging to my head fairly tight despite the torture I've put them through and I can look straight down without them falling off. I only wish they would have applied that same magic to the nose cushions. They pop right off if they get even lightly snagged on your shirt collar. BUT, they are light enough that even wearing them sans-cushion isn't really uncomfortable. These are the perfect glasses for anyone that has Velma-itis and finds their goggles on the floor more often than inside their case. ... show more

  • Great glasses
Color: 4-pack: Black Gunmetal Brown and Silver Magnification Strength: 1.0 x
The glasses are only for reading and I can see really well with them. They seem to be made good too. I have only had them for about a week so I can’t say how they will last. But for now they look like expensive glasses and I got four pair with a case. This is a great deal !!

  • These are good
Color: 4-pack: Black Gunmetal Brown and Silver Magnification Strength: 1.75 x
Good value for the price. Glasses come with soft cases. They include extra plastic nose pieces, cleaning cloth, and a little tiny eyeglass screwdriver, worth it's weight in gold. Will order again.

  • These are good, cheap glasses but...
Color: 6-pack Readers: 3 Black 3 Gunmetal Magnification Strength: 1.75 x
These are good glasses. The lenses seem to be considerably harder than the ones at Walmart or DG. The problem is that the nose pads break off after about 6 weeks. I've got 7 broken pairs in my nightstand that all failed the same way. My plan is to super glue the pads on the next ones I buy before I wear them. ... show more
