  • Works well.
Style: AERATOR
1 acre farm pond. Shallow water. About 3-5'. I used 3/4 poly tubing and placed the pump it in a shop close to the pond to keep it out of the weather. About 150' run. 3/4 poly to the pond, then weighted 1/2 to the center of the pond. I installed a pressure gauge at the pump and usually run about 4psi with a cylinder membrane diffuser. Sometimes 3.5psi. Be very careful how you introduce it to an old pond with fish of any kind. Be patient. start at 15 minutes a day, slowly increasing the time daily. I placed my areator in a five gallon bucket with a brick to minimize the organic disturbance at the bottom. That IS toxic gas that is released into the water from the decaying organic matter. Fish kills are a real thing. Check out you tube and see for yourself what can what if you are not careful. Love the pump, been running it continuously for about a month now. Just in time for 100 degree, no rain weeks that cause the pond to drop very low. This system may save this 60 year old pond's bass, blue gill, catfish, and crappie. ... show more

  • Septic air pump
Style: AERATOR
Our house has had an Aerobic septic system since we moved in over 20 years ago. This is the second time we have had to replace the air pump. These last a little longer then the average according to our septic inspector. He was surprised to hear that we have only needed 2. BTW aerobic systems are a pain in the ass. ... show more

  • Works as expected.
Style: AERATOR
Had a failing ~12 year old aerator that was getting noisy and not producing enough air according the the alarm that kept sounding. I have Hoot 600 system. I thought diaphragms had possibly failed(I've rebuilt those many times and keep them in stock), however that wasn't the problem. It appears that the magnetic piece has been rubbing internally and eventually caused a lot of rust dust, etc. Replaced the entire unit and we are back in business. ... show more

  • good product
Style: AERATOR
air pump lasts about 1-1/2 years in continuous service--easy to change out --- will probably try rebuilding one in the future to save monies since usually the only thing that goes wrong is failure of the diaphragms other wise great little unit

  • Cheaper to do it myself
Style: AERATOR
septic service wanted over $500 to provided and install a pump. Super simple to order on line J(2 days) and install myself. The last one lasted 2 years. Not really happy about that, but at rental property so I'm not there to "maintain" filter every 6 months.
