  • Excellent pump
Style: 2" Semi Trash + 196cc Engine + 0.9 Gal
This pump is worth the money. I was very worried at first, I was worried that the gallons per minute were exaggerated or that it was like radios where it's the perfect circumstances for to get that number. I was also worried that the pump wouldn't go as far as I needed it to go. Now let me tell you I pumped through 112 ft of hose up a straight drop and then into my 330 gallon water container and filled it in about 5 minutes, And that includes getting it primed and started. I've seen no leakages so far it is fairly heavy however I did not attach the wheels yet. It's a good size. Performance is immaculate. noise is a little louder than I expected. Now I've only had this for a couple days now so I can't speak on durability but it looks fairly well built and I'm hoping it will last a long time. ... show more

  • Very good water pump.
Style: 2" Semi Trash + 196cc Engine + 0.9 Gal
I am very satisfied with this product. I did have trouble when I first assembled the unit as the pump kept loosing prime or wouldn't prime up at all. Upon reviewing the manual I read how even a pinhole air leak on the intake hose would cause the unit to lose its prime. I had tightened the clamp down as far as I could and still the pump wouldn't stay primed. What I did was put pipe dope around the shaft of the quick connect assembly where it slides inside the hose and added a second hose clamp. Now the pump primes immediately and doesn't falter so it was def a air leak on the intake that caused my priming problem which is no fault of the pump, I'm simply putting this in the review so a buyer can be aware of how sensitive the pump is to an air leak and will know to investigate this if they keep losing prime on the pump. I have a above ground pool, water drained below the skimmer intakes and a cover on the pool. I have a pump with a 1 in line on it to pump water off the pool cover. If I had a lot of rain come in and wasn't able to pump the water off for a week or so then I would spend 5 to 6 hours on the weekend pumping the water off. The biggest problem was that the pump couldn't handle any solids and a leaf or pine straw getting sucked up would cause the pump to loose prime and then I would have to fiddle with it or take the pump apart to get it to working again. This pump handled all the leaves and pine-straw that it sucked up without missing a beat and would remove the same amount of water as the other pump in about 20 minutes versus all evening. I had considered buying the champion pump with the 3 in intake but I had a different brand of pump for years with a 3 in line before it finally quit on me and what I remember the most about the pump was how heavy it was. While this pump has some weight to it, it is very manageable and can be lifted easily and taken up my steps to the pool deck. Very easy to crank and has cranked the first pull every time I've used it. Very satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend it!!! ... show more

  • Great for the price includes everything needed for use
Style: 2" Semi Trash + 196cc Engine + 0.9 Gal
I bought this pump primarily to drain the water from our fire pit and low lying areas in the yard that fill up following Alaska break-up. I have used it three times in the fire pit and I have to say, at this point in time I am thoroughly impressed. The Priming can sometimes be a little difficult, but once it is primed it works GREAT!!!! The first time I used it the suction was so strong it actually sucked into the ground and I had to turn off the pump so I could break it free from the mud. The highest I have had to lift the water was about 4', but it did it with ease. I would recommend using Synthetic oil not conventional, this motor gets really hot and I am not sure hoe conventional oil will hold up. A number of other reviews mentioned it was hard to get the drain hose on and cutting the hose, I wouldn't recommend that at all. Use a little bit of cooking oil on the drain nipple and the hose slides on with ease and doesn't slip once the hose clamp is secured. The pump is loud as others have mentioned, but what do expect for a $250.00 pump and free shipping. The engine casting is rough so there are sharp edges you need to be careful of, but it runs fine at least for the time being. PROS - Comes with everything you need right out of the box - The wheel kit makes transporting easy - Great suction once it is primed CONS - The priming of the pump can be difficult sometimes - Wish the drain hose was at least 50' long, but it works - Engine casting is rough, but that is expected since its made in China Update 12 May 2016 I have used this pump 2 summers now and I am still happy with my purchase. I had previously mentioned a '50 drain hose would be nice so i bought one and it works great. Also the supply screenn is very important, I know this because I tried using it with out it attached and well I had to take the pump assembly apart and clean out the garbage, but it works great again. ... show more

  • Excellent Gas Powered Pump
Style: 2" Semi Trash + 196cc Engine + 0.9 Gal
We routinely get flooding in our backyard and this pump saved the day. It is easy to assemble: — mine came with a wheel kit and a handle for pulling it: — easy setup. Once I turned on the gas valve, it started on the first pull. I did have some issues getting the coupler onto the suction hose, but I got it on there well enough for my first use. I bought a 100 ft discharge hose with the threaded coupler. The discharge hose it comes with is 20 ft long, which was not long enough for my use. In operation, this pump is fantastic! You MUST prime the pump before starting the engine. Priming is easy, just follow the directions in the booklet. The quick start guide does not mention priming. All in all, this was a worthwhile investment for us. ... show more
