I'm a big fan of this bike. When ordering there was a slight snafu with out of stock and order updates, whatever. It's quick enough and powerful enough for my short commute with a slight incline one way. I don't think I've ever had a product more exemplify Jack-of-all-trades master of none. It's got nice grippy tires and front suspension, but it's not a great off road bike. It's fast enough with enough range for it to be a commuter, but it's not a road bike. My bundle came with front cargo and saddlebags and a large max weight, but it's not a top cargo bike. It folds pretty small, but it's pretty heavy so I'd hate to take this upstairs. So, this bike is going to be pretty good at anything you might ask it to do. I'm considering this bike for other members of my family. Highly recommended and will likely buy again. ... show more

    • Take your time, do lots of research before assembly and riding

The e-bike was extremely well wrapped and arrived without and damage. The overall weight of the box and contents was 92 pounds — 20 more than the bike and battery — but cut outs at the ends of the box and five heavy straps around it helped when moving it to where I opened everything. The enclosed assembly instructions were no bad but did a very poor job when explaining how to assemble the components that make up the front axle assembly ( this is different from the shipping “axle” that the bike comes fitted with) and equally bad when the central portion of the triple clamp for the front forks is tightened up prior to clamping the handlebar stem assembly on to the headstock. A few simple photos nd blown up drawings would have helped enormously. There was no mention of attaching the front fender when installing the headlight — these must go on together. The included tools were fine but you will need a Phillips head (x) screwdriver as well to adjust the headlight angle. Finding the best seat height, and bar adjustment took some fiddling. When I turned the battery on (there is an on/off switch on the battery itself) the display came on and showed me that the default was set for maximum assist — that means that the bike would have pulled away with maximum power the first time I started peddling. Be very careful and ensure that you either start off with no assist, or level 1 until you are comfortable with the bike. I also had to stiffen the fork recoil settings initially as the e-bike was so springy initially it made it hard to start off. BTW, the brakes are very powerful a dndont need much hand pressure to slow the bike down quickly. This is not a bicycle, nor a motorcycle, but it is a unique machine that takes time and practice to feel comfortable with. I have owned a Pedego Trail Tracker for over 10 years and a Letric 2.0 for 2 years so my opinions are based on my experience. I am a large guy and I enjoy using my ebike to explore. My Trail Tracker gave me several electrical problems throughout the 10 years that I rode it. The 26" tires provided a better stable ride, but it was hard to get on and off. My Letric ebike did not provide a comfortable ride for me. The pedal cranks seemed to be out of proportion, causing me to over-extend my knees when the seat height was adjusted to my height. Overall the Haybike appears very well built with a good fit and finish. The power from the rear hub motor feels stronger than either of my previous bikes. The battery seemed to charge much quicker than my other two bikes. I like the mag wheels vs the spoked wheels on my other bikes. The spokes on my other bikes made noises when riding, I never had a failure from them, the just seemed marginal probably from my size. Adjusting to the thumb throttle on my Ranger S is taking a little getting used to compared to the twist grip on my other bikes. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase and I have been recommending the Heybike to those that have questioned me on my purchase. JH ... show more

I am 65 and and 5’3”. I want a an e-bike that was short enough my feet can be almost flat on the ground. I know most riders don’t want their feet flat on the ground due to less leg extension, but the leg extension isn’t as important to me as me feeling safe. I did have to move the seat back to make it comfortable to pedal with the seat so low. The seat post goes down to about 27-28 inches so it works well. I wish there wasn’t so much assembly. My husband has a different brand folding e-bike that came fully assembled and had like the spray in foam to keep it ultra protected during shipping. Getting the front wheel on was a bear. For the seat height I wanted we had to move the rear cargo basket back so we could only use 2 screws - I added some black zip ties to secure it more. When it kicks in, you feel it but it is smooth and doesn’t make it feel out of control. We practiced at a park with lots of roads and flat grass so we had a perfect practice area to learn. I love how I can set the max speed per pedal assist level through the app on my iPhone. I may have to send to back- waiting to hear from support because it is next to impossible to fold and unfold even with 2 strong men doing it. That won’t work for me since we plan to take it almost weekly to trails. I didn’t buy it for street use but more for bike paths and trails. I can find and unfold my husbands e-bike just fine so there has to be an issue with the one I got. I also added an HD wide mirror on the left of mine and the mirror folds so it isn’t damaged when the bike is folded. I would have rated 5 stars instead of 4 but due to the issue we have folding and unfolding, coupled with assembly I ranked it down. I would have thought a quality check would have been done on the fold/unfold before it shipped. ... show more
