Description

The MPK 165P.3 car audio speakers system energy in the mid-low range ensures a unique listening experience, creating the ideal set up alongside a powerful subwoofer section. The MP 165P.3 woofer electroacoustic parameters have been forged to give it the pure and solid sound of an authentic mid-bass, designed for high dynamic systems. The MPK 165P.3 timbre balance is entrusted to the MPCX 2P.3 crossover featuring a copper inductor with a 1 mm diameter wire to filter the MP 165P.3, which, with its nominal 3 Ω requires high impulse currents. The tweeter MP 25.3 12dB/Octave crossover is built with extremely high quality 160V bi-metallized polyester film capacitor and an air coil inductor. The tweeter (MP 25.3) level control (0/+2.5dB) provides the ability to adapt the system response to the listener preferences and considering the components installation position. Features - Exponential V-cone profile pressed-pulp cone with cotton fibers, combining stiffness and lightweight for a wide frequency response. Cone profile geometrically optimized for utmost linearity and dispersion in the mid frequency range. Low mounting depth, acoustically transparent aluminium alloy basket with elegant diamond cutting and featuring the aluminium Hertz logo. Full protection metal mesh grill featuring the aluminium Hertz logo and attractive look mineral powder coated inner grill are included for several install combinations. Two-position (0 / +2.5 dB) switch for tweeter level adjustments, to fine-tune the transducers emission. 160V extremely high quality bi-metallized polyester film capacitors with ultra-low DF, for maximum sound transparency and neat mid/hi-frequencies. • Amazing upgrades
Size: MPK 165P.3
Had top of the line “private label” speakers from an online retailer but they were real lacking in the upper ranges and just didn’t fulfill my expectations. I decided to give Hertz a try and WOW, they are amazing. The sound stage is so much better than the other speakers I decided to order coaxials for the rear doors too. I have had many different Focals and long ago Boston Acoustics Pro’s and these are even better. Once they get broken in I can only assume they will get better. Love them. ... show more

  • BEST COMPONENTS FOR YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY, HANDS DOWN!!!
Size: MPK 165P.3
I recently installed a new sound system in my 2015 Dodge Dart, and I was going to continue using my Focal PS 165V components, but I kept reading so many positive reviews about Hertz audio. Well let me tell you, I'm so glad I decided to change my components. Don't get me wrong, Focal PS series are some great sounding speakers, but when compared to the Hertz Pro Mille MPK 165P.3 components, the Hertz win hands down! The 3 ohm configuration allows you to draw more power from your amp, plus they can handle quite a bit more power than the Focals (which at the time were close to the same price point). The woofers can also produce a much lower frequency than the Focals, so the mid bass just sounds A LOT BETTER. The tweeters aren't quite as "bright" as the Focals, but that's actually a good thing, as the Focal tweets are a little too bright. The crossovers are outstanding to say the least! All in all, if you're looking for some great sounding components without completely breaking the bank, the Hertz Pro Mille MPK 165P.3 components are, without a doubt, the best sounding set that I've heard without having to spend over $1000. In fact, I have a good friend of mine that has a $1400 set of K2 Focals, and after hearing my Hertz components, he's kicking himself for spending so much money on his set, and said that mine sound just as good, if not slightly better. I also want to add that if you're gonna spend $500 on a nice set of components, be sure NOT to throw them on a mediocre amp! I'm powering mine with a very old school (approximately 1986) Phoenix Gold M44 four channel amp. I can't recommend these speakers enough. If you shop for these online, take your time and find the best deal you can. These speakers are crafted in Italy, and I purchased mine on eBay N.I.B. directly from a seller located in Italy and saved about $200.Plus shipping only took 5-6 days! You can't go wrong with these Hertz components!!! Thank you for reading my review of this excellent set of component speakers! I hope this review was helpful. C.King ... show more

  • Hope this helps anyone who's on the fence!
Size: MPK 165P.3
I have done a bunch of research about a high quality component set of speakers that would get loud and be super clean and I knew going into this project that whatever I decided to go with wouldnt be cheap. But these sound as good as sets that cost double what these do. I currently have this set running active in my front stage with no rear fill. They are being powered by a Phoenix Gold sx2 800.4 amp with the signal coming from a pioneer 80prs and man do these things love the power this amp puts out. I clamped the woofers recieving right around 140rms and the tweeters substantially less with a clean(unclipped) signal. I would imagine if for whatever odd reason you're running them off just deck power or feeding them clipped signals they would not sound good or last long. The midbass punch is absolutely amazing, best of any set I've owned and the tweeters scream but not in a bad or harsh way. With other sets I've owned the tweeters either couldnt keep up or were super harsh and tinny sounding. My doors are fully deadened on the inner and outer skin's and I am also using fast rings. Woofers are mounted in the factory location and tweets are flushed into the side mirror covers on the door panels. Best "component" set I've owned so far, hands down. I only put the (".." around component because I'm not using their passive crossovers. (Just ordered the jl twk88 DSP and a set of hertz 100.5 4" midrange to make it a 3way active set.) These things scream and sound so clean and clear while doing so. No complaints at all for a high quality, amazing sounding set of speakers. Throughout the years I've ran a bunch of different component sets, alpine type r, Infiniti kappa pros, JBL power series, focal access line and these hertz are by far the best sounding. My circle of friends are all into car audio(sq/spl and sql setups). One buddy is running morel hybrid 602s, another with a set of k2's and both of them had said for the price of theirs compared to what I paid for these they would go with these the next go around. That should say something because focal and morel are some of the top of the top in car audio speakers. Hope this helps anyone who's on the fence! ... show more

  • Good build quality, Great sound
Size: MPK 165P.3
The drivers are built like a tank. I am coming up on two years with them in my system now. I have run them without a grille for a good amount of that time because the cone is really durable. These can get pretty loud. The drivers are 150w RMS and the tweeters are a bit less, that's how they arrive at 230w. The drivers have quite a big frequency range as well. I have set the low end cutoff at 80hz for safety, but they do produce wonderful sound down to 50hz (for low volume listening, this is OK to do). I put these in a completely isolated component setup, where each speaker and tweeter has it's own channel. The installer put the crossover in for protection on the tweeters just in case the head unit screwed up. The sound is CRISP, super clean no distortion whatsoever. They have a lot of mid-bass power but if you really want to get the full value out of this you need to deaden and seal them well or you'll be losing out on that mid bass. The tweeters are crisp and not super sharp though. I think they have softened a little with age as expected so I have turned up their volume slightly as they age. ... show more
