I like this little set of tools I have used them several times since receiving them for a review. The small files work well with torch tips that tend to clog up for what ever reason and also the disposal part of my mig welder handpiece. I have also used the small tool that looks like a awl in miniature version it cleans out tiny openings on carb jets perfectly with out damage. I have not had an opportunity to use the brushes but the time will come around when I need them and that I am sure most likely when I use my HVLP sprayer to clean out all those tiny orifices used to mist paint from a spray gun. Overall yeah you need a set of these if you do a lot of handy man stuff working on lawn mowers, weed whackers, chain saws, welders, torches, or anything that has small openings that require cleaning from time to time.     • Good inexpensive set of wire cleaners for use on many things.

This is a handy tool to have for any garage tinkerer. These are basically tiny round wire size files, and are useful for cleaning out many parts and passages on many different things. This set has a nice variety of sizes included, along with a flat file for cleaning up the tops of things with passages in them. The listing lists them as being for cleaning jets on carburetors, but be careful. On a large car carburetor you will probably be fine, but if you are using these to clean the jets on small motorcycle, scooter, or power equipment carburetors you can easily ruin the jets if you use these too much or too hard. Small jets can easily be filed out of round or even get enlarged too much, either of which can dramatically alter fuel flow, and make diagnosing your running problems more difficult than ever, so be gentle if using these for that. They are great torch tip cleaners though, which is what they are normally sold for. These do a decent job of removing crud from paint sprayer passages and the like too. At the very low price these sell for, I think they are an excellent value. ... show more

I use it a lot to clean carbs on my 2 stroke and 4 stroke small engines. Even though my push lawn mower and 2 stroke trimmer have both air and fuel filters, small passages in their carburetors still get somehow clogged every season or so. I also suspect that leaf and snow blowers get their debris build-up with fuel. I always use this tool along with the air compressor blow tool. This tool has a lot of small needles of different diameter that help to loosen the debris inside small fuel or air passages. Blow tool helps to remove loosened debris out of those passages. Needles are made from break resistant spring stainless steel of high tensile strength and high rigidity. These brushes are labeled as being for carburetor, but I picked them up to clean my small "pen" devices and glass pieces. These devices have small openings that can get gunked up with sticky residues, so being able to agitate specific areas as needed with these brushes is really useful for getting everything sparkling clean. Product Reviewed: Tip / Carb cleaner for $4 TL;DR; long wires with serrated portions; useless file; decent value; good size range These are long compared to my other tip cleaners. The wires have serrations near the ends that protrude around 0.001” larger than the base wire. The small is 0.016”/0.017” and the large is around 0.066”. Nice kit and quite economical. Per usual the “file” is pretty much useless although I suppose it might provide a bit of abrasion cleaning in a pinch. It’s more of a flat piece of steel with lines scribed across it. There is not integrated storage with the kit. 4.5 stars. All as described in the listing. How I review: Reviews start with 5 stars and I subtract points. - 0 for value but I try to provide guidance -0.5 to -3 for product not matching description e.g. stainless steel is actually plated steel -0.5 to -3 for product missing badly on execution I select products carefully so low (1-3 scores) are rare but detailed comments and critiques almost always are in the review. I have an ultrasonic cleaner that I use to clean the carbs for my lawn equipment. Even using treated fuel and emptying the tanks when not in use, I still have to clean the jets in my carbs occasionally. Some of the smaller orifices can remain partially clogged, even after an ultrasonic bath. This kit will help me complete the gunk removal. It has plenty of different sized cleaning needles, down to the very small sizes that I need, Another use I found for this kit was to clean shower heads. The many little water holes in them tend to get mineral buildup over time, reducing the flow of water. These cleaning needles make cleaning the holes quick and easy.
