It’s a piece of steel shaped exactly as you see and expect. I prefer to the standard tool, where the J-hook on this easily breaks free and lifts frames that are glued down with propolis. One with the bent scraper and j-hook would allow for all benefits, but I don’t mind having two different ones while working a hive. ... show more

We use this tool and love the pry bar feature! It makes is so much easier to lift the frames. Be sure to get two.. you know how the tools get lost when you are working the hives!

Well, that is my opinion any way. These work great, come sharp, and the hook works great for pulling out heavy frames without pulling the one next to it also. I'll buy more if I loose these.
