The mattress is thick, it's enough to cover the top to the bottom and put in a couple of baby mattresses LOL. I purchased the mattress for my children's room to keep the bedding in good condition. This bag is a great help to move your mattress. It has a good weight to it. Not flimsy. It keeps your bed clean in the moving truck. Some municipalities also require a bag like this for tossing a mattress. This bag will protect that expensive purchase. I always use these to move. It makes carrying the mattress so much easier. It did the job for our king mattress. Handles on the sides would’ve improved this product, but this is a budget-friendly mattress cover for moving, so I would definitely recommend at this price point because I’ve seen other items at crazy high prices.

    • 3 mil is same thickness as heavy duty contractor grade trash bags

3 mil thickness is THICK. To put it in perspective, heavy duty contractor grade trash bags are 3 mil. In fact, I don't even think the bag the mattress shipped in when new was as thick and strong as this. $11 (July 2024 pricing) may seem like a lot for one Twin size bag, but you are paying for the 3 mil thickness. Shop around. You will find that the price is competitive for the quality. The Mattress bag can totally be reused. Don't tear into the packaging and throw it out. Carefully cut open the packaging so after use, you can just fold up the bag and store it away until next time. My $700 mattress will be nicely protected. These bags can also be used to store home padded gymnastic mats. They are a bit of an overkill for covering furniture and sofas when painting, thin plastic painter tarps are much more affordable for that purpose. ... show more

Our family moves a lot because of the job and I thought I’d finally invest in some mattress bag protectors for the move. I ordered this one on a whim and I think it will do fine protecting our mattress one time. There is no way to seal the bag there’s no zipper or flap or button it’s just an open ended edge like a giant plastic pouch. As far as the plastic itself, it feels like one of those plastic painter dropcloth. If it gets lifted by the plastic, I’m sure fingers would go through it, trying to lift the mattress. I think this pouch will help protect against stains for our next move, but it’s not a savable solution that I was hoping for ... show more

My sister moved to another state, so I ordered these to help us pack her apartment. This fit her mattress perfectly and protected it from damage, which was great considering we dragged the heavy mattress on the ground and concrete a few times and it held together well. This would also work really well for storing a mattress in a storage center or spare bedroom to keep it clean from dust and bugs. It's a nice protector for your mattress. It is an open ended "bag" for your mattress and I would say it's thick enough, but I wouldn't be rough with the plastic. You will have to tape it closed since there's no other way to close it. Overall, it's what I expected and I am happy with it.
