  • Not compatible with 110-240V electric heat systems (like electric baseboard heat, line voltage, convectors, radiant-ceiling heat). ---- Does not work with conventional multistage systems, mini split systems and 12v rv thermostats.
  • Dual powered by 24VAC Power or 2 AAA Batteries. No common wire (c-wire) required on most systems (only required on heat only and cool only systems).
  • Easy-to see and read: display with blue backlight, large clear backlit digital display, very suitable for middle-aged and elderly people.

I had to do a lot of research when replacing a very old Trane Weathertron mercury thermostat. So many wires! But I figured it out and got this installed and working. Everything works perfect BUT for whatever reason when the backlight is off, I can see all the modes on the screen which makes it hard to see what the temperature is without turning the backlight on. No one else here seems to have this problem, so I guess it's just my unit. It doesn't affect the way it works at all so I will just deal with it I guess. ... show more

I dropped my old thermostat and the screen broke. This mounted in the same space with the same hole pattern. Pleasant surprise #1. Programming it was easy and it had nice features. By far the best price I could find for a thermostat for a heat pump with auxiliary heat. It was easy to install and has been working great for 3 weeks now. (Original thermostat internal thermometer failed and wouldn't register room temp correctly so heat pump was never coming on.)

Hooked up wires as suggested in the instructions. Heating while in cooling mode and cooling while in heating mode. Rewired the reversing valve operation. Works correctly now.
