  • Easy to set up
This was pretty easy to set up and get going, the instructions were clear and easy to understand. I like how simple and compact this set it. It also looks just like a set of headphone, is compact and very easy to travel with and/ or conceal. It offers a really good range and frequency. You can adjust the volume to fit you perfectly. It also has noise cancelling, which is very helpful to separate and hear clearly. They charge really fast, just as it said, and lasts a good while. It was some shorter battery length than it says, but I get my day out of it. They are pretty comfortable, but after a long day, it makes my ears sore, and they slide out sometimes, but its not bad. Overall, this is a good quality set, sound, style, ease of use and look. ... show more

  • Very big and sound was difficult.
I thought this would be good for me at first. I only for them a few times then ended up buying new ones that are 1000 times better but I can't return these so I guess I will use them as back up. They are very bulky and noticeable. I had a hard time getting it to stay in my ear and I could never get the volume just right. At first these seemed like they would work and then the whistling and screeching started on the right side. No matter what size dome I chose for my ear it always squeeled I thought maybe it was my hair covering it but no even with my hair up it squeeled and it was embarrassing to be in the middle of a conversation and my ear starts squeeling and everyone could hear it. It also had a very digital sound to it I got irritated with trying to make it work so I just took them out and stopped using them. Hope this review helps maybe it was just the pair I received. ... show more

  • Good Idea, Bad Execution
I've had severe low-frequency hearing loss in one ear since early childhood, but the high-frequency hearing in that ear is sharp. I have very sharp, full-spectrum hearing in my other ear. Overall, the combination gives adequate hearing and I've never felt the need for a hearing aid. Still, I wondered what improvements might be possible if I boosted the low-frequency sound in my bad ear. This product looked like a great and relatively low-cost way to see what improvement might be had by boosting the low frequencies in my bad ear. It is claimed that this hearing aid has four spectral modes: mode 1 gives uniform amplification, mode 2 boosts high frequencies, mode 3 boosts medium frequencies, and mode 4 boosts low frequencies. Mode 4 was of interest to me. It is also claimed that this hearing aid has six different volume (amplification) levels. I was eager to see what this product could do for me. I inserted one of the pair of this hearing aid in my bad ear and wore it for a couple of evenings around the house, doing mundane house chores and chatting with my wife. I have these observations: 1. There seems to be very little difference among the four spectral modes. They all sound essentially the same to me. 2. In all spectral modes, including mode 4, high frequencies were WAY TOO LOUD! This was unpleasant and even painful at times. This was true even though I set the unit at the lowest of its six volume levels. (And there wasn't much difference I could hear between the six volume levels.) 3. I heard a distinct and annoying artificial background hiss continuously. This hiss probably would have been substantially less if I could have turned down the volume further, to a level appropriate for my ear. Also, this hiss might have been less if mode 4 worked better to amplify just low-frequencies and not high-frequencies as well. 4. I heard instances of fuzzy distortion on speech, and my own speech sounded very loud. 5. Here are some of the sounds that were jarring, unpleasant, and even painful in my hearing-aid-boosted ear: the sound of my fork hitting my plate, the sound of the door latch as I closed the utility room door, the sound of the washing machine lid as I closed it, and the sound of my wife's normally pleasant laugh from a distance of three feet. After two evenings experimenting with this product, I don't ever want to put it in my ear again. Given that, I can't justify awarding it more than one star. ... show more

  • Adjusting the sound is too difficult for me.
I didn't expect these to be the equivalent of high priced hearing aids. They frankly should not be called hearing aids, I believe. The major problem, though, is not that they feel like I have large objects in my ears, but that I cannot find a way to adjust the sound in a dependable way. Either I can't hear at all, or if I push the button sounds become so loud that someone closing a cupboard door in the next room sounds like a major car crash. I can hear my own voice so loud it makes me cringe. I can get to the point where I hear four beeps. Then, is when it gets much more complicated. You should be able to press and get several different levels of sound, but that is when it all seems to fall apart. I also think that each aid should be clear marked with a "R" or "L." It's just too easy for an older person to get confused and put them in the wrong ear. Right now, I just have one of the devices in my left ear. It was initially much too loud, and now I have it a little reduced, but I'm afraid to try to change it even lower because before that just made it go higher instead or turn off completely. I know this single button approach is supposed to make it easy for seniors, but I tried it in my husband's ear, and the loudness actually made him cry out. Since he can't control it himself, I was afraid I would injure his ear drum when it started squealing, so I just removed it. I think one of the major drawbacks is that you hear too much of your own breathing, involuntary sounds, etc. even when you are able to get it turned down somewhat. I would suggest ordering these if you don't mind that you will be wearing very visible large black objects in your ears, and seeing if you can figure out how to control the sound to your liking. If so, these may be the answer for you. One plus I can mention is that most hearing devices fall out of my very small ear canals. The behind the ear type with the device to put in the ear canal usually just doesn't work for me. These stay in quite well, even though they are large. ... show more
