I've worn a few different types of back braces over the years for herniated, degenerating, and bulging arthritic discs in the lower back. This was a decent-quality back brace. It feels durable and is well-made. (Please excuse any pet hair in the pictures. It did not come with pet hair, lol.) I felt this was a more adjustable back support brace compared to others I've had. I think this looks more confusing than it is. It's like wrapping a big piece of duct tape around you and then buckling a belt over it to make it tight. Two steps. Easy peasy. There is the main wrap that velcros together at the front, Then there is the belt-like support attached to the main wrap that you can use to adjust the tightness of the wrap. You just have to take each side of the belt like you would a belt on your pants that's already threaded through the loops, and velcro the ends in front instead of buckling. I was afraid this might be complicated to put on but it was easy to put on. (I don't buy things with a lot of straps anymore, I don't have the patience.) There are five (?) metal bands for support that don't stick in you, they just add extra support. I did not feel them at all, but I felt supported. My back felt more supported when I tried it on, and I could feel what felt like a lift of pressure off of a disc (like when a chiropractor adjusts you and you feel lighter, but maybe not to that extent, but a little bit.), so it took a twinge of that annoying pain off. Also, keep in mind these are not meant to be worn all the time because you still need to build your back muscles! The logo is similar to the size of a thin belt buckle. You could cover up the brand name with leather adhesive (the kind to repair sofas) or something pretty if you're wearing it outside the house. (Or a great place for pins, buttons, stickers, or your favorite quote.) The fabric tag says this is machine washable. I ordered a medium although I have a 29" waist and I'm glad I did. I felt there were only a couple of inches of leeway left in the main wrap. I thought, eek! If I eat anymore will it fit? So if you're between 35" and 41" waist I'd suggest ordering a large instead of a medium. (Likewise, if you're at the tail end of the small measurements I'd recommend ordering a medium.) Maybe I just gained a lot of weight. But, the medium fit me fine and I'm glad I didn't get a small. I was going to give this five stars because it's a well-made durable back support and I thought the only issue was the sizing chart but after thinking about it I'm deducting a star because the logo text could be an issue for someone who wants to wear this in public. My husband who has back problems scoliosis and lumbar pain uses a back brace at work he is a chef and he is always on his feet and carrying around pretty heavy things his prior back brace he used until he could not anymore so you went ahead and got him this one... When it first arrived and he tried it on it did not fit it was extremely flight and we know we picked out the correct waist size so we knew that there had to be something where it's at this and what it was and yes we were right it has an adjustable struts to fit it was still a bit snug but it will work it definitely works should be able to think the pressure off of his Lumbar and helps him stand up straighter and then definitely helps the pain and the arthritis he gets in his back especially while he's working. With that I will say it won't be bad to size up with this if I would have went one more size up it would have shook the velcro to the very end and then can have been adjusted instead it had to be adjusted first and took the velcro halfway through even though it still works and he will get his use out of it I would still insist to say size up anyway but it is made of Premium quality material that is extremely nice you can see where it gives support of the Lombard area it has arrows as an up and down at the center of your back so you know exactly where it should be at all times and you can see how it lifts the pressure right off of your lower back it looks amazing and he said he feels even more amazing so I definitely say that this is five stars in quality and usefulness and I highly recommend it is definitely worth the value of the money especially if you have back pain or a bad back thank you ... show more

I'm comparing this to a basic back brace I got from some big box stores ages ago. That one was not as wide, the Velcro wasn't as grippy, and it didn't have as much elastic, or as much "oomph" as this one does when I do the secondary straps. I have a pretty long torso and unfortunately that means my lower back seems to really get messed up (although, supposedly one should do a lot of core exercises with back pain and I don't do those either.) I've been mulching the garden and I probably have done over a hundred wheelbarrows full and have maybe another 150 left. I got this back brace hoping it would help. I've only done 30 or so wheelbarrows of mulch, but it did help with my posture. It did feel supportive. I normally try to squat and lunge as much as possible while shovelling so I'm not bending over and then straightening up and hurting my back. But even lowering my center of gravity as much as possible, my back doesn't feel that great the next day. (I still recommend it though because at least I CAN get out of bed the next day.) I won't say this 100% makes you feel great, like you can do heavy activities all day, but it does help. It also helps remind you not to bend over so much because the band is wide enough to be closer to a corset (and it did seem to feel like it was shoving my organs in when I had it really strapped down.) Current price is $32ish, with a coupon that brings it closer to $20. At $32 I would say this is four stars, and at $20 this would be five stars. My previous back brace was $20-25ish (although that was previous massive inflation) but it was also cheaper feeling, and not as supportive. You do need to wear this over a T-shirt at least. While I was working, my Tshirt rode up and the bottom of the brace was kind of rubbing uncomfortably on my waist. ... show more
