When I ordered this adapter (and still as of writing this review), the product description was rather confusing because it described the cable as both a headphone/mic converter and as a dual-headphone splitter. Those two cables are quite similar in appearance, but they serve entirely different purposes. To be clear, what I wanted and received is a headphone/mic adapter, which separates the audio output and microphone input signals from a combined 3.5mm headset jack (like those found on non-Apple smartphones, some laptops/PCs, and game controllers). It does not share music between two pairs of headphones. I'm using this adapter with a mini-PC, and it works exactly as expected. After inserting the cable's male plug into the computer's headset port, I can then connect my headphones and a microphone to each of the adapter's respective 3.5mm jacks. Sound quality is good, with no added noise or loss of volume. Physically, the adapter cable is nicely built with slim, flexible wiring, but none of the protective braid that’s become popular nowadays. The connectors fit precisely and have gold-plated contacts. The headphone and microphone jacks are clearly labeled, with small but clear icons. Overall, this a good-quality cable that does its job well. It's great for anyone who specifically needs a headset/mic adapter (iPhone excluded). Look elsewhere, though, if you need a stereo headphone splitter for sharing music. ... show more
