This is great. The hat is warm but breathable and is super bright with charging. I use it to walk my dog at night and allows me full use of my hands for the walk. It's a fun/silly pattern but my kids always want to steal it and I love that it's washable. The light plugs directly into a usb and I love that I don't need an additional cable to charge. The light does need to be recharged fairly often to maintain brightness as a flashlight but I take long walks with no streetlights, so I use it on max for a couple of hours before I need to fully recharge it. If you're just using it as safety to notify oncoming traffic that you're there, it lasts much longer. Even when it runs down to low light, I have yet to kill the power completely and it's easy to tell when the light is starting to dim and needs to be recharged, so I don't have to worry about it unexpectedly turning off in the middle of its use and leaving me stranded. ... show more

Light unit is easily removable from the hat for charging or for washing hat, but my only complaint so far is the instructions say the light should flash when it’s charging… It does not flash. So far it appears to be charging but I’ve only had it for a week so I can’t really comment on longevity . Hoping I get a few years out of it. This hat is the best invention! I purchased the hat because it’s getting dark and cold outside and I wanted to be visible when walking my dog at night, the headlights beanie is perfect for this activity. I love all the different styles and colors, the battery in the light lasts for a long time but is easy to charge in a usb when it runs out.
