This review is for the HCK Stainless Steel Double Drawer Dual Zone Beverage and Wine Fridge. I like some things about this unit. In particular, for undercounter placement, the 2-drawer design is easier to use than a unit with door that swings left or right. The main reason I am not fully satisfied with the unit is because it runs all the time. Unlike other refrigerators and freezes, including a previous undercounter wine/beverage drawer fridge I owned, this unit never completely stops running. As a result, it emits noise all the time. Also, the product description on Amazon is wrong. The description says the unit will "hold up to 21 standard 750ml bottles of red wine." That's false--it holds up to 18 standard 750ml bottles. Also the product description says: "The refrigerator is equipped with detachable wheels, allowing you to switch the refrigerator to indoor or outdoor at any time." That's false--it does not come with wheels. ... show more

The kegerator is now working well after a few modifications. I bought this with a coupon on Amazon so it was a good price, but after having to make some additional purchases to get beer flowing, the price turns out to be only OK. The refrigerator part of this kegerator works really well and the temperature controller is good. The exterior of the unit is nice and the unit arrived without any damage. The issues are: (1) the instructions are useless, (2) as another reviewer pointed out - the plastic shelf holders on the sides stick out too far to allow a Quarter Slim keg to fit as advertised , (3) the keg coupler that comes with the unit sticks up stick up to high making it challenging to install the 1/6 keg under the temp controller - I bought a low profile keg coupler that let me fit in the 1/6 keg without any issue (4) HCK provides you with a 2.5 pound CO2 tank - I could not find anyplace that would fill/exchange a 2.5 pound tank (too small "haven't filled those for years") - I had to buy a new 5 pound CO2 tank, luckily it fits in the kegerator with a 1/6 keg. So after some additional purchases and some modifications, I now have nice, cold flowing beer and will soon forget about the additional $200 or so I spent on additional replacement parts. ... show more

This thing is a great kegerator. The box was roughed up a bit in shipping, but there was no damage to the unit itself after unboxing. Assembly was super simple, all that is involved is attaching the dispenser to the top, and plugging it in. It gets cold, and temperature is easy to adjust. Looks pretty great too! ... show more

As you can see your route, used a decimal meter to read the decimals of sound. They’re rating is much lower than what I’m getting with a decibel meter.! otherwise, this is not a bad unit, but the noise is ridiculous!

    • A solid unit. Not outstanding, but solid.
Style: 15" Kegerator
Good: -Digital temperature display with precise control (a big deal compared to a sliding scale dial) -High capacity of cans when not in use with a keg -Very protective packaging Bad: -Terrible instructions -Awkward fit of slim kegs -It doesn't look like a $1200 appliance I noticed that other reviews talked about their poor experiences with the plumbing and instructions, so I'll focus on what I didn't see discussed already. I had a similar experience with the lack of setup information and uncomfortable process of fitting a keg in. The build quality of this kegerator is fine. It looks good enough and it seems sturdy. However, at this price point I was hoping for a little more polish. For example, the stainless steel front panel is thinner than most full-size refrigerators. This can be clearly seen at the corners, which have a little bit of unfinished edge visible. Even if someone doesn't know why, the use of particularly thin stainless steel like this always ends up looking a little bit cheap. There's a tiny extra bit of sharpness to the door edges and some extra wavy distortion near the corners that people feel as being "value" quality, even if they don't recognize why. If that had been improved, it would have made this kegerator feel much more premium. Another point is the casters, where some extra finishing to the edges would have helped. This part's a little nit-picky, though, since many people won't see or use them. The box arrived to the doorstep wet, being heavily rained on, and with torn edges, dents, bumps, and scrapes. It had clearly been handled roughly. However, the fridge inside was unaffected. The packaging had protected it perfectly, and the layers inside showed that they still had more protection to offer. The packaging offers impressive protection. I suspect I'm not the only one whose items show up like this sometimes, so it's good to see. Overall, I would have a hard time recommending this to someone at this price point compared to other kegerators or DIY options, but it's not bad at all so far. I think it's a good unit for someone who knows what to expect from it. ... show more

I ordered this for use in my home. Assembly is required but with the simple and easy to follow instructions it only took about half an hour. A CO2 tank is required if you will be using a keg. This kegerator doesn’t fit a full sized keg but easily accommodated a five gallon keg. The spout works great at dispensing beer and the fridge keeps the beer ice cold. Even with a keg and CO2 tank inside the fridge there is room to keep dozens of cans/bottles. This is a really great quality kegerator and I would definitely recommend it. ... show more
