I recently received a gen 9 iPad as a gift and ordered this pencil to use for taking notes. The pencil is easy to use, connects instantly and has no discernable lag. I've never used the Apple branded pencil but I can't imagine it working any better than this one.

I wasn't sure which pen I should get - was worried about accuracy and overall feel, but this pen worked very good right from the start. It fits well inside my holder and works every time. It charges quickly with a C type charger and holds a charge for quite a while. You simply push the top and it powers up with small LED lights showing charge status. UPDATE 10/24- I bought in March and it lost its tip in October and will not work at all.. up until now I was pretty satisfied with pen. It started not being 100% when tapping, maybe 70%. Guess I will buy an apple pen now or buy the 2/3year warranty. UPDATE 2: WHILE SHOPPING I NOTICED IN PICTURE OF THIS PEN IT COMES WITH REPLACEMENT TIPS... MY BAD. I JUST NEED TO FIND WHERE I PUT THE TIPS! ... show more

Doesn't even connect with bluetooth. You just turn the pen on and it WORKS! I was pretty doubtful when i was looking at the description and the price, because its way cheaper than the apple pencil, but it works REALLY good. Feels good in my hand too, and it fits in the pencil holder on my ipad case

The replacement pencil I purchased as a substitute for the Original Pencil has proven to be a decent alternative. So far, it has performed admirably, offering smooth functionality and a responsive drawing experience similar to the original. However, the one notable flaw is that it tends to turn off automatically. This means you have to press the button to turn it back on, which can be somewhat annoying, especially during extended use. While this isn't a major issue, it does interrupt the workflow and can be a bit of a nuisance at times.
