  • Best way to make a great tasting coffee!
Color: Brown
I love my Nespresso coffee, but the machine broke one day and I decided to get something else because Nespresso coffee machine and capsules are expensive. I got an insulated stainless steel french press and enjoyed making coffee out of it, but it took a while before I can get it right. I was still missing the taste of my Nespresso capsules, then I saw Aeropress. I researched on Aeropress and eventually bought one and loved making even better and clean coffee out of it. It was so much easier to make and clean up than my french press. I then decided to upgrade my electric water kettle to the gooseneck one for better control on pouring hot water, and then the pour-over coffee got my attention since these water kettles are made just for that purpose. I researched on pour-over and eventually settled on the Hario v60 kit because it is highly rated and cheap compared to the other famous brands. It is not as elegant as the Bodum or Chemex, but way cheaper and way easier to clean up. Let me tell you, I was skeptical on how good the coffee will turn out for the pour-over, but I’m now sold on it! It is the best way and the easiest way to make a great tasting cup of coffee if you get the right recipe! It is now my go to for my morning coffee! What am I going to do with my french press and Aeropress??? ... show more

  • Best starter set
Color: Brown
Everything you need for brewing a great cup of coffee, the paper filters make cleaning up easy, it's easy to use too although the instructions are in Japanese they have images that are easy to understand. The flavor is great as the paper absorbs a good amount of bitterness and acidity.

  • A great cup of pour-over coffee
Color: Red
I have made pour-over coffee for years, but when my electric coffeemaker died after yeoman's service of two decades, I decided not to replace it. I usually drink coffee by myself, so pour-over is just as handy. And the resulting cup is high quality. The Hario system uses a cone filter similar to the famous Melitta, but unlike Melitta, the bottom hole is a round, star-shaped opening, not a series of holes along a flat line. So the filters it uses are also conical and come to a point. The little glass pot can keep coffee warm on over a tea lamp stove, but for range heating, you'd be better off with the Hario V60 Glass Range Server (600ml, Clear) as it has a glass handle, not a plastic one that could melt over heat. The cone filter holder is also plastic. You fit a cone filter into it (the set comes with some of the V60 size filters) and wet it down. Then you put in 25grams of ground coffee per about 2 "cups" (one 8 oz mug, I figure) and pour boiling water down the center, wetting the grounds as they foam up. As it filters into the pot, you have fresh coffee. You can warm it up again in the microwave (this is microwavable) but I just prewarm the glass before making coffee and drink it right up. The hot water kettle should have a gooseneck for optimal pouring out of hot water into the filter. It directs the flow and keeps it from going too quickly. Oxo makes an electric kettle OXO On Adjustable Temperature Electric Pour-Over Kettle which I think is good but pricey. You can set temperatures and keep water warm, so it is very nice to use. Hario makes a version, far less expensive but also a stovetop kettle with a built-in thermometer. Pour Over Coffee Kettle with BUILT-IN THERMOMETER - Large 1.2L - Gooseneck Drip Coffee Kettle and Stainless Steel Stovetop Tea Pot That may be your best bet if you want a gooseneck kettle at a reasonable cost. I think pour-over when made correctly gives the best cup of coffee. I prefer it to French Press (which I find gives a woody note if the grounds are not prepared in just the right degree of coarseness.) Years ago, I visited my cousins who live in Brazil and we enjoyed many many cups of "cafezinho", the Brazilian demitasse of strong coffee, not espresso, that is served frequently during the day. It's filtered coffee. I asked to see the kitchen and how this delicious coffee was prepared. I was surprised to see something like a ring stand in the chemistry lab I worked in, and a simple sock-shaped cotton filter resting in it. That's how that divine brew was made? So simple... The Japanese took to this method some time ago, when coffee became a "thing" in Japan. As Japanese kitchens tend to be small, this system is energy efficient and makes a lot of sense. Burr grinders and scales to go with, so you get that perfect cup, the Japanese being of the philosophy "There is only ONE right way to do anything." Is this the right way? Maybe... ... show more

  • V60 and the carafe in this bundle is a great value for a nice set.
Color: Red
This is a very nice set, and I love the V60 brewer compared to the other pour over brewer I previously used. I like the white V60 filters better than these, so I would have ordered the set that includes white filters if I would have noticed that some include the white filters. This is definitely a great value compared to buying the components separately. ... show more

  • For the price, there is no excuse
Color: Red
This is my first "big shot" pour over coffee maker of my own. I was not expecting much of anything except for a little more than what I used before, which was the Mellida #2 filter plastic pour over. I used the Mellida in random stages throughout the years. I would use it every day, at least once a day, for 7 weeks straight and then put it away for awhile and use my drip coffee maker for some time, kinda back and forth. To be honest I mostly used the pour over for practical purpose, so I didn't have to make a full pot of coffee and waist beans. BUT when I purchased and received my Hario V60 pour over kit that previous practice completely changed! FIRST thing when I opened the box and pulled out the components, I automatically could tell the difference in design and quality. Plus the red color was just a perfect balance between glass and plastic, ( I almost chose to buy the brown set, but might buy it cuz it's only $20!). SECOND the quality of the paper filters that came with the set were far finer than the ones I was buying for my previous pour over, I mean there was drastic difference in quality. AND THIRD once I walked myself through the first use of the Hario pour over and did everything right and waited for my coffee to cool down a tad so I could drink it... MAN the difference is ten fold on the taste of my Cup of Joe! BUY THIS BEAUTIFUL COFFEE SET! ... show more
